Found a new dog gander a guess at breed?

If you haven't, call the local pound and dog catcher. They are often the first ones contacted when someone is missing a dog. A dog well kept like that has a home someplace that it somehow got away from.

 

That was totally my next guess. For real.

 

Mine was a Royal Bouvier Des Ned Flanders.

So after calling every vet in the area - only my vet has any clients with this bread.
A girl form the shelter called back and thought it was her brother's dog as she had just shaved him last week.
He stopped by after work with picture proof. They have no idea what kind of dog they have(thought it was yorkie- shih Tzu cross)
Dog's name is Toto 7mo old and he's run away 3 times
The dog jumped out of the window of the car and ran back to my porch while we were BS'ing

Told them he has a home here should he ever become too much of a problem, this breed is know to be escapes artists

 

Hmm, looking at pictures, I don't see it, but I'm just a former dog groomer that hasn't been current on the dog scene for 15 years or more. The vet would certainly have a better idea.

 

That seems reasonable to me.

cut was a maintenance done by his sister (guessing she works at the shelter and hacks pups, but tenders her brother's dog a bit different)
He has every indication of PBGV down to the legs setting offset when seated.
His lacking show dog measure would be ear length - should reach the snout, but this a 7mo puppy

 

you did a good job getting the dog back to his home. I would hope the owner gets him chipped and finds a better way to monitor the pup. He might always be luck. Get hit by a car or worse.

That's great that you found out who the owners are.

 

Like I said I don't think it is a yorkie cross. If you read up on the PBGV breed most everyone thinks their a terrier cross but they've been a standardized breed in France for a couple hundred years. the Petit version was separated out ~1970's

DOG GONE! (again)

 

Someone needs to take a hard look at how they are keeping their dog in control. I've had dogs who were escape artists, but even the one that learned to scale the 6' chain link fence was contained after the second time. The one that learned to open the gate latch was also contained after 2 successful escapes (the 1st time I thought it was an accident - nope, she did it again the next day).

Another dog that I adopted from a family was claimed to be a genius at escaping. No, he just looked for opportunity and would seize it like lightning - seriously, even a 2 years old he was too lazy to actually attempt an escape without an inattentive human being involved.

Not saying none of my dogs got loose more than twice, just saying getting loose so many times in such a short period of time should make one re-think their commitment to keeping their pet safe. Maybe he should adopt a turtle instead.

 

Too bad that dog got out again. Not feeling so good as I was about him being back with his owner. That is a training issue on the owners part. Training both the owner and the dog!
