    Cannas and zinnia and sun flowers on the outside; tomatoes, beans cucs, and sweet potatoes on the inside.

    I gave up on sweet corn years ago. It always makes it until just the day before picking

    Not a big problem around here but used to be until we really learned how to keep better control. We have not given up any sweet corn for several years now. Got some corn now that is ready to tassel so we'll be eating corn by early August. The corn behind my wife is taller than my head already and tassels can be seen. Looking good so far. Notice too that my wife can't reach the top of that pea vine.

    The fence is 5' high and on most posts we have tied plastic bags. We leave them on until fall. Without the bags, once or twice some deer did get in early on but did no damage except to the fence. Tie the bags on and they stay out. Rabbits don't seem to be a problem either. Still got chipmunks in there though.

    I have only found one way to keep out deer and that is 8' deer fencing. I put up 1000' for my orchard expansion. Amazing how well the trees do without deer damage.
