    Is there a more common time of year that refurbished units come available? Or is it completely sporadic?

    Definitely sporadic. I think it is just at times when they have gotten caught up with orders then they take time to tear apart stoves that have been returned. Methinks they perhaps overdo it but who am I to really say that? The do it right so that the customer can feel okay to buy refurbished rather than have doubts.

    Whoever buys those is getting a great deal. Got my ideal steel last September. Really love the stove. I can't say enough about cat stove abilities to run lower and longer.
