Yea. Grinder cut off wheels are OK. Wood/metal sawzall blades are crap. I think I went through like 5 just to cut a few soft drywall screws!!! Teeth totally smooth.

On tractor by net we have a thread "harbor freight tools that don't suck" also one titled "........that DO SUCK"

OK, got the Predator. And of course I need a high altitude but do you think HF has these?? Noooo they don't.
Wonder what I need to look for? My elevation is 8200 Ft.
Current jet has "77" stamped on it. Thanks, JB

Its not HFs fault. 99 percent of places I can buy a small engine won't have any type of jet kit. Especially for elevation.
Most predators, parts are the same for hon-duh of the same cc and are mostly interchangeable.
Finding the comparable hon-duh and finding a dealer or ordering online would be the course to take.
The HF manual should tell you the jet size.

The predators are huge in karting, intake exhaust piston crank kits ect. Googling the jet size with the motor you purchased should yield a variety.

I have heard that if you call HF customer service they can get a high altitude jet kit for you.
But if not, take the jet to your local bike shop (or maybe a Honda Power Equipment dealer would be better) they should have a good selection of jets that you could match up. (probably the same jet used in the Hondas, heck, maybe the jet out of you old motor would work?)
IIRC, you will lose something like 3% air pressure per 1000' of altitude gained, so I would guess you will want to drop somewheres 20-25% on the jet size

HF customer service has yielded me nothing. I mean nothing whatsoever, so don't count on them. I have the jet out, I'll take it over to my local power-sports place.
They'll get me squared away. It's funny to me, HF sells these motors yet the tech. support is non-existent. They even specify use of the motor without the correct jet will void warranty, yet they can't offer the correct jet. I have to remind myself- It's Harbor Freight. Caveat emptor. JB

My brother-in-law; no longer here I am sad to say, had a custom built wood splitter that was powered by an old MG engine. That thing could split anything; huge ram. I think my sister got rid of it after he died.

Broke in the new motor today.
Ran it for a while, drained the oil and repeat. Took the jet (70) off the Honda and installed it on the new carb. Motor has a sputter with the choke wide open, but smooth at 75% open. So, jet size might need to altered. I'm thinking a bit smaller, 68 or 65. Am I on the right track?

So you are saying that with the choke totally "off" that it sputters, but if you turn it on a little it smooths out? If so, then the 70 jet is too small.
Hows it run with the stock jet? 77 down to a 70 is not really a HUGE change IMO...

Yep, choke richens the mixture. If you need choke for it to run, it needs a larger jet.

Yea partial closed choke riches mixture with less air so with no choke I agree with these guys you need a larger jet to flow more fuel to get a richer mixture without choke on.
