I think Ive got it:mad: according to the CDC and various other places on the internet Ive got all the right signs and symptoms. Does anyone have some good home remedies for helping to fight off the flu or at least to lesson the symptoms? My wife got me some EmerginC and Mucinex cold and flu. They only seem to help for a little while a little longer if i go to sleep but as soon as I wake up its back just as hard. I know Im going to have to let it run its course Im just looking for something to ease the pain you know.

I can't give you any good advice for flu symptoms but I will say this, if you get real sick real quick, get to the ER immediately. This year the 2009 pandemic swine H1N1 strain is the predominant strain again in over 90% of cases and it is killing a lot of teens and young and middle aged adults, unlike seasonal flu which is more likely to severely infect infants and elderly. Since it went around in 2009/2010 it has picked up more deadly gene mutations. Don't blow this one off folks.

My wife is fighting off what seems to be the flu. It hasn't been too bad but she is pregnant so it limits what she is able to take for it. Now we think my son (he's 2) might be coming down with it too. He is still in good spirits however and can laugh at the novelty of blowing out "boogers" into tissues.

My best friend fought off that H1N1 2.0 and for someone who rarely falls ill, he was down for close to two weeks. I didn't recognize his voice on the phone.

My daughter got the flu vaccine in late November and still came down with this flu 2 1/2 weeks later. She was really sick for over three weeks, lost her voice too and couldn't cantor at church until last weekend.

With my wife going through Chemo we have to be careful not to get out and about people who might be sick. Sure keeps her from going shopping twice every weekend though!

Take good care of her,,, my wife went through chemo 7 years ago... knock on firewood she's, she's still cancer free... She always seemed to have her chemo treatments on a Wednesday so by the weekend she was tired... Didn't miss a day of work... She had to get 4 treatments, once every 3 weeks... Turned my stomach seeing them put the first bag into her... thought the worst... Found out later,,, peeing that all out at home destroys a septic systems bacteria...

Yep, about the same with my wife. She has been getting her's on Wednesdays also. She has 4 treatments once every two weeks, followed by 4 more once every 3 weeks. I make up for the septic tank problem!

Feeling a lot better today still a little weak congested and have a cough but my fever broke last night and Im now down to 97.4* which is a whole lot better than 102*. The funny thing is I was at 102* and so cold I was laying on the floor in front of the wood stove shivering.

Just think if you didn't have that wood stove! Glad your feeling better Matt! Now that your body fought that off, hopefully you'll have antibodies established so you won't get that again...

Thanks Charlie Im feeling a lot better than I was and now Im debating on if I should take the day off tomorrow or not. Im afraid that if I get up at 0430 tomorrow and go work outside for 11 hours Im going to regret that and possibly relapse.

I'm still fighting influenza A. Been almost two weeks now and improvement is slow. The smell of food makes my stomach turn and I haven't eaten a full meal yet. Best thing I can recommend is codeine, it sure cut my body aches which have been the worst part of the whole ordeal. Luckily they only lasted a few days.

Yes! Drink drink drink! It will pay dividends if you end up with bronchitis like me. Or pneumonia, like me last year.

That's a tough call....Sometimes the fresh air does you well... Depends what your job is outside... how strenuous.. Like mentioned above , drink lots of water... lemon water breaks up mucous, thins it out.. and I mean cut up a whole lemon into a glass.. Just keep refilling it... Better yeat make up a gallon of lemons and water ..letting it sit as you use the water... but also keep lemons in your glass as well... Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar in water is good too..

I felt it coming on last week… then the symptoms went away…

Then Friday night.. wammo!!! I haven't had the flu for several years but now I'm paying for it.

I'm even out of pellets as I cancelled Friday's trip to get another ton… and I'm freezing.
