Got more tedious hand work done on the project yesterday.

Really coming right down to the end of things here soon

A few tid bits left to wrap up here and there, but getting real close.

Some pix of What was and what is now.

I was standing in the kitchen last night looking through the dinning room into the living room and had to go "Wow" what a difference.

Still need to paint the little logs into the wood box, but nearly finished.

Lamenting on what to do with the mantle ???

Originally I was going to do it in the Medium grey to match the other two horizontal "shelf" areas on the left side, but there has been suggestions around here to leave the wood natural and let it age.

I am still leaning towards the medium grey to keep continuity of the theme.

    Ahhhh well.

Maybe someone here has some input on this ????

Went to the depot yesterday and picked up a paintable "stone look" outlet cover and painted it to blend into the scheme of things,

The white plastic cover just did not get it.

We had a fun day on the water yesterday. Caught around 30 bass. Kid plum wore me out, But I kept up as best as I could. I'll only post a few pic's here, But I'll post all of the catch(bass only) on my face book page. I'll break this site if I post em all. Our total tally was 37 bass, 10 pickerel, 6 perch, 4 rock bass and 5 blugil.......... Thats about an average day for us.

Note how he holds his arm out while pops doesn't. My 2 pounder grew once I started using his trick!!

Thats pretty much an average day for us. A great day is 60+ bass with some 3 and 4 pounders kicked in. We'd call it a bad day if we didn't get our limit(5 fish each)......

Not that it matters. But, I have to add they are all caught on artificial lures. No live bait is used. Disclaimer. :p

Got a bit of painting done today.

The last little bit is about 5 sq ft maybe.

Thinking about painting the little logs in the wood box.

Really getting tired of spreading paint.

    Ah well, such is life.

Got rid of the two display cases that were in the living room yesterday.

They are either gonna get sold at a friends garage sale or they are going to the dump.

Enough of the junk ok

With those suckers gone there is a ton of room now.

    Yesssssssssssssssssssssss

It is amazing what we can do when we let go of some stuff that has been in the way. I had most of a whole houseful of stuff to part with when we did the make over. End result is everything is mostly new. All new floors, walls, new plumbing, water and heating, all new electric wires and outlets. Every room is new. This time we got what we wanted. I could use some more storage, but you know, no matter what, that will always be true. Only thing we kept was some of the windows. Others were all changed out. I did keep my Harman. That was only three years old.

Did the final touches on the fireplace hearth thingy

Added some logs to the wood box.

(I may try to add a forced perspective to the logs to give the illusion of depth, not sure)
Gotta fiddle with that on some scrap paper first with a sharpy before going after the actual stuff

I am pleased with the outcome to say the least.

Really adds some depth and a cozy atmosphere to an otherwise blah corner.
