here's another double pic, the lower pic still shows the motel sign..........there's been a guy on c-list near me buying/restoring old motel chairs like in the lower pic also, they sell for 75.00 and up!!
One of the last original Micky-D's.....just doesn't look right without 50's and early 60's vehicles ......
Just happened by Hussey's a few months ago. Same sign, Guns, wedding gowns & cold beer. Thought I was back in WV
I can still remember going to this water park when I was young, was once a thriving place as can be seen by these pics, if I remember right, it was called Holiday Sands located just south of Ravenna, it's now the currant site of the moose club, though these pics don't show the sign that was at the roadside entrance, what's left of it is still there, been wanting to get a pic of it before it gets removed, too bad this park is no more, more like these need to be around, I think there would be a little less crime if they were still here..........
Another place that's changed for the worse in my opinion, is Lake Milton Craig Beach park, these pics are much earlier than when I first starting to go here, but it still had the fun atmosphere when I did start going, was always a fun place even into the late 80's and 90's, but almost all of the "fun feel" is gone now, big condos along the east shoreline, the Craig Beach area is pretty much just that now, a beach, pretty amazing how it's changed over the years, I would take my kids here when they were young to play and swim, they still remember it very well, was good times, and after we left the beach, we went to a small putt-putt golf coarse about a mile from the lake and would have lunch and play a round of putt-putt, whenever I drive through this area now, it nearly brings me to tears...........
Good thing you got that picture when you did. Family and I just came through today and the sign is gone.
Yep, it's been down now for a couple months, sad to see it's gone, not sure if it went over to the "new" Eastpark or not, that intersection has been a complete nightmare since construction started on it........
I've got these guys hanging in my living room. These came from a farm on Ridge Road in Niagara County, NY. They hung in my fathers body shop for 30 years or so. Actually have quite a few Burma Shave partial sign sets. Looking on ebay its pretty crazy where prices have gone with these.
Scored this classic sign over the forth weekend, found out from the seller it came from a now demolished Marathon fuel station not far from me off the I80 turnpike......
