This is kinda of "derail" (everything off topic) thread. But I can start a Fahrenheit thread later? I will see what I can find, as my cold air return isn't hooked up and 343's is. Gonna be a minute. I have a small project I have to get done 1st. Living room windows need sealed up. I always put up the little Frost King window kits (this window is one of 3 that have yet to be done) and I want to pull the trim and seal them 1st, then put up plastic. . So it's gonna be a few.. May even take a pic? Or two ;)

I'm sure mine could handle it solo if it was just cold and not windy and cold like it has been lately. It doesn't help much being on top of a hill in farm country. Today it's just been the furnace on 3 (wood eater was cold when I woke up) and it's staying at 70 inside with a full load of Somersets in the hopper. I've never run mine on level 5 except for when it cranks up there for a bit during the self clean. I don't like to run anything at max output for any length of time if I don't have to, but I know the original owner ran it on 5 most all the time. If mine needs to be on 4 to meet the heat needs of my house, it's time for me to fire up the wood eater provided I'm at home.

From a pure convenience standpoint, the furnace beats firewood every day of the week. But I still like firing up the wood burner every now and again. I figure the wood I've scrounged over the years saves me a ton or so of pellets each season. And it lets me justify the chainsaws, wood stacks and other toys to the Mrs. :)

Cool. Thanks for the info. I need to get this figured out, and practice dodging frying pans. That, and see if there is a decent place to vent something out the wall. The area I want to put a Fahrenheit is really busy. Too much wiring, septic piping, plumbing, not to mention it's below and directly upwind from the patio door, which is opened and closed all day long because of the dog...I think we might get a nasty burst of pellet exhaust every time we use that door.

Now...back to the original intent of the thread, I spent part of the day digging out the driveway, which was buried in 18 inches of snow thanks to drifts left over from the last polar vortex that went through. I also worked in my basement, and then went out to get wings and beer with the family. Good day.

Was loading the furnace with a couple bags of Somersets. Dumping in the second bag and I started noticing a bunch of fines and clumps. D*mn bag was wet at some point. Had to dig the clumps and chunks of wet pellets out of the hopper.

-11 here this morning. I am starting to understand why my grandparents went to Florida every winter when they were still around.

Yikes. Finally warming up into the double digits today, but now the wind is howling again. Looking forward to normal winter weather in the next few days.

I am wondering if February is going to be as rough as January was. I guess time will tell.

Take your time my friend. No hurry. It works well as is. But more air flow and I would open up the other side of my house (only the North side rooms are connected to Fahrenheit)

I am no Comp/PC genius, but I can make a drawing on paper and take a pic of how and where the Registers area nd why it still works so good.
