That shed was awesome. I remember waaay back when wanting you to swing on over to pa and build me one. This shed you are thinking of building is similar to the shelter logic shed I put up. If it is all tied in together and anchored down, and maybe tucked away from windy spots like I did, and kept up with any snow accumulation on on it, should work. Use a beefy tarp, keep it tight.

With that shape I feel snow would slide right off.. Wind would be my concern.. Quonset huts are built in this way but with metal roofing..

Where I wanted it there wouldn't be much wind at all. My concern after this year was scrapping it off the ground.

Yep. Snow should fall off easily, only problem would be wind and drifting snow. If a drift builds up beside it, then the couple inches of snow on top slide down, this will push in on the side of the structure.

I remember that Shed Pete. That was right around your inception in another world. It's actually what made me re purpose the wood I had for a horse fence and wrap my shed (was a dog kennel and open on all 4 sides)

HMM I had forgotten about that! I gotta say yours is pretty fancy and looks great though.;) I will probably be anchoring a new one to the fence line with a pitch roof and pallet slat sides this spring. Here is a pic to give you an idea anyway. I am going to use the 4*4's I sunk in tot he ground for the fence as the back with a sloped roof and 3 more 4*4's sunk in the front as the front supports. And yes thats a pallet slat fence. :D

Okey dokey here goes. Im planning to do a similar build but Im planning on doing it up against an existing structure Ill tie the two roofs together and build it out big enough to hold 4+ cord of wood. Now how the heck am I supposed to tie two roofs together??

can you post a pic? In the past I have framed a new fake wall and stood it up to the old roofline then lagged it in and built off of that.

Predictably Pete, you've procured my previous production for perfunctory perusal by precisely positioning in your precious sig-line.
I'm running out of easily remembered p words.
Oooh, I seem to remember the fence. Vaguely.

I have my wood for the current season stacked in front of this shed and would like to get a top on it. I want to put a roof on it and maybe some pallet sides to clean it up a bit.

You cold pull the facia board off the back of the roof and tie into it easily enough. Then put a couple 4*4s in the ground maybe 5' out and extend the roof. It would give you lots of wood storage and water runoff. The plus side is it would be rock solid too. You don't need a floor just pallets.

Could you be a little more specific Pete? Im an electrician not a carpenter. Im not sure what your talking about by facia board. I have thoughabout ripping the whole roof off on that one side and tying it into the woodshed and making a loft of sorts but that might be a little over my head.

At least the shed ;) I have since put a front on it with just a small doorway. Instead of wide open.

After the shed, I started to re purpose the entire fence in the back yard. All but a small section, that ended up getting blown down in a storm 2 days before Christmas (last month).

The side kit in my trailer was another fence project :)

(These are all old pics. Got a new phone and they lost my last 1,700 photos)
