    Thanks Larry!!

Not sure how long it will take or IF we can get there, but my last two cats (that we got as kittens and were trained) would sit in my lap and purr while I clipped their nails which eliminated almost all scratching be it furniture etc. They also were trained for bathing. We shall see if this happens with this lil lady....

I have a cat that doesn't like the top on, so I had to take tthem off. Otherwise he would go on the "door sill". Once I took the tops off, he gets right in there and does his thing.

Get high protein stuff. a lot of cat foods have way too many grains and vegetables because people tend to think what is a good diet for humans must be good for the pets. For dogs it is okay (to an extent), since they evolved eating human leftovers. Cats are carnivores thru and thru who happen to eat grass to help them upchuck hairballs and other stuff. You don't have to keep her on high protein stuff forever, just long enough to get some weight on her, then you can ease her back to more normal food.

I would like to add that grain free formulas are proving out to be the best for my cats and dogs. No dry hair, no itching and scratching.

Yeah, is say that's breed profiling to a tee.
There's a couple of shapes and types of labs.

I've got two of the extremes.

Badger is a 95 lb American lab that is a retrieving and swimming machine. There's not an ounce of fat on him.

William, while only just 1 today is an English Labrador, a little over 70 lbs now at a year, and totally different body styles. Wide frame, wide head, fat otter tail, while Badger is tall, lean, and longer skinny tail. IMG_20160618_120054518_TOP.jpg IMG_20160515_172944761.jpg

Well, they are stupid trying to get after me. My last big fat dog lived to be 17 and was put down after being hit by a car backing up. She didn't see the car moving and walked right into the way.

You are so right. I also have both. One thing that remains the same in both is the lab personality. Very gentle dogs. So good with kids.

Floyd is a great dog, a couple pics showed that with out even

We don't even have kids, well human kids that is, and they both are so good with our neighbor's 2 year old, and all weekend with our friends 7 kids from 3 yrs old to 12 yr olds.

    That's built in with Labradors.

We are dealing with an aging (13 year old) house cat that has developed urinary tract blockage issues, this is all very new to me but apparently a common problem in felines. The cat was in and out of the hospital last week getting unblocked through catheterization $$$. He is home now and seems to be doing well. My vet has recommended buying, available only through him, Hills Science diet prescription kibble that will help with this problem. The prescription diet is mega $$$. I can see many other quality non-prescription diets available at my local family owned pet store that say they offer the same benefit. Anybody have a feline with this problem? Have a dry kibble they like? I also purchased a "water fountain" type water dish for the cats, this supposedly encourages them to drink more water and can help with the problem.

I can't help to much, but my moms cat has similar problems, and like many cats, need a wet diet, with no dry to prevent urinary crystallization and bladder infections. In a cats natural habitat, eating mice etc would be considered a wet diet (blood, etc) Good luck
