Another early June weather system is rolling in today with cool and showery weather for the week.

    Still painting things.

Went to the Depot yesterday and picked up what's likely the last of the new baseboard for the remodel.

    More paint today maybe.

I need to finish the curtain rod brackets and get them ready to go up as well.

    What a project.

Still need to find a home for a couple of display cases and some other junk.

Definitely rather be messing with a pellet stove. :D

Got after the curtain rod/brackets yesterday and just about got the brackets done.

We did the first "dress rehearsal" yesterday after I got the two end brackets up.

Wanted to make sure things were all going to fit properly and such.

One center bracket is done and one left to go.

Once the brackets are finished and mounted then we can tear things down and paint the brackets and finish the paint around the windows.

    What a project.

I am looking forward to doing the "Faux stone" arch around the little Whit.

Here are some pix of the drapery project.

Outer brackets on the wall and the tube in place.

One outer drape panel hung (Blue)

Blue panels on the outer ends and silver panels in the middle.

    The end brackets
    One center bracket (2 views)

Brackets are 14 gauge steel with plastic conduit bushings pressed in to carry the tube.

The ends of the tube will be plugged with a wooden plug and a cool little Wood end piece (Store bought) screwed in to keep the outer fold from sliding off and to look cool.
Genuine Martha Stewart living. Wooo hooo, a little class maybe

I have made many things in my life, but never drapery rods/hangers.

The store bought stuff is just waaaaaaaaay tooooooooooooooo $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for what ya get.

The stuff going up will hold a lot more without ever failing.

Most drapery hardware is just flimsy.

The stuff I took down was awful, just sickening.

The company that did these for us originally hung the brackets on the sheet rock with those plastic molly anchors :picard:and several screws were starting to pull out.

I located the 2 x 6 in the wall and used 2-1/2" long deck screws to fasten them up with.

Not gonna come down easily

Well, we shall see how much gets done today.

Got the drapes up for a full dress rehearsal.

    I'm liking this stuff.

Stuff has to come back down so I can paint the areas between the windows and paint the brackets.

    Slooooooowly gaining on it.

I've ridden so much in the rain, that unless it is a TS or supercell (which I have ridden in while in Ohio until I could find an underpass to shelter under), then I really prefer rain to high, gusty winds.

I've ridden about 10 times in the last 2 weeks and yesterday was the first time I didn't get wet. Most of those days I knew (or was reasonably sure) I would get wet, but didn't care.

I've got a windscreen and lined leather bandana that I can pull up to my nose. Or if I expect fairly good rain, I take the 3/4 helmet.

I don't bother cleaning the bike very often - it will just get dirty again, if not from rain, from thick fog that I ride thru on many early morning rides to work.

I did give it a bath in the middle of May, on a Saturday (oh yeah, the hottest day of the year so far). The next time I rode it, it was raining (and all that pollen was in the air too).

Well there is your problem, you need to spend the money on a few little things to be more comfortable (like how I am willing to spend your money for you? :D).
