FINALLY! I just got done switching my winter tires to my summer tires on my every day driver. I knew when I put the Blizzaks on in the Fall that this would be their last Winter. By time this Spring rolled around (pun intended) they were too worn down for winter snow and ice driving, but they still had plenty enough tread left for dry and wet driving above freezing. So, it kind of became a game I played with myself to see how long I could keep them on. I have to say, I won't miss the whine of the sipes... at least 'til next Fall.:D

Right where I want to be.
I have the ATs on the Jeep. They may only last until the end of summer.
The new ones will be slightly smaller.....original equipment size.

I only run all seasons now. I just don't go out unless the road are clear. so why risk it, or go through all that changing tires stuff. My son and his wife both have 4 wheel drive vehicles here so if we needed to get out, we could.

My car is rear-wheel drive and 425 ft-lbs of torque. It came with OEM summer performance tires (Michelin Pilot Super Sports). These turn to hockey pucks below freezing. The first winter I decided to bite the bullet and buy a set of winter tires and rims. It wasn't terribly expensive. So now, I have two full sets. It takes about 1/2 hour to switch them. I'm good with that. However, I totally understand the convenience of all seasons. That's what's on my wife's car and my pick up.

I like the way you think. That's basically what I was doing. The soft rubber wears off pretty dang fast in 90+ degree weather. The rears were getting pretty sketchy by the end. I definitely got my money's worth out of them and saved a couple thousand miles of tread on my ridiculously expensive summer tires.

I'm still rocking snow tires on the trailblazer, just like you not enough for next winter but they will get me through summer.
Then buy new snows in the fall.

Newer snows have different compounds that once the "SNOW" rubber wears its a harder rubber.

I still change tires on my Camry. Just got the last winter on a set of studded tires-after 7 winters the studs are falling out.
The only thing that is a pain on the 2014 Camry is that I have to take it to the dealership to have the TPMS reset-a $20 charge 2x a year.

In bad weather studs are awesome, I always think about studding(10-20 a tire I cheap out), but their traction sucks in normal weather and new tire tech has come a long way.

Yeah, I don't think I'll get studs when I replace the tires this fall. I do have a 4wd truck if conditions are bad.

    Lol.

The mid 2000 years of Camrys had a button hidden in the glove box. 2014 .5 model and later Camrys just need to be properly inflated.

My 04 4runner just needs all 5 tires inflated properly, like most cars with TPMS. Idk why yota did that for a couple years with the button.

    I'm on the same program.
Smoking them off of my pickup.
Had 2 Like new master craft courser tires dropped off at my transfer station the other day.My size ! :bug::thumbs: Those will go on the front of my pickup in the fall. Have some studded winters mounted on extra rims to go on the back. Car has newer all seasons now and it doesn't see many miles. Should be good for quite awhile

I use a subaru legacy and run 4 snow tires in the winter. I keep them on separate steel wheels. long changed over. They wear fast when there is no snow. Even with the all wheel drive they make a huge difference. traction control and ABS hardly ever comes on even in a decent snowfall. I do notice that it is now june and i see a lot of cars with their snows still on.
even during winter when there is no chance of snow i try to take the other car that doesnt have snow tires to save on wear.

Sounds to me like the first 60 feet outta your driveway needs to be dedicated to getting your tire temps well above freezing. :dex::dex::dex:

I keep All Terrains (AT's) on the SUV for winter driving, and the car is for good weather driving so it doesn't need snows (neither does it need performance - just regular every-day tires). IF I only had the car, would certainly keep an extra set of rims mounted with snows.

Bad news is that I think both vehicles will need all new tires this year. Oh, and at least a rear tire for the bike. Going to be an expensive year for wheels. Hmm, maybe I need to check my 4-wheel cart, the air compressor, as well as the the mower and blower tires too

People think because they have a "truck" or 4wd that magically they are going to stop and turn better in snow.
Tires do indeed make a huge difference.
