Caffeine going in. A walk through the jungle(my woods) is up this morning after the kids get on the bus and wife goes to work. The hardwood saplings have come in so thick in some areas that when you walk the trail you can't see very far. Very thick vegetation.

After that will be bringing the splitter out and splitting a pile of rounds. When I need a break from that I will get on the mower and cut some grass. Cooler temps, 52 right now with a high of 70 today. Should be a nice day. :)

Think we'll be ripping out a boiler today....may even have the replacement to install if it didn't get backordered again....

May be doing that myself soon (hiring out actually). Went downstairs this morning to transfer pellets from the P61's hopper to the P43 and smelled propane. Found the pilot light had blown out on my boiler. Turned off the gas line and it should be good. Since the boiler is from the 80's, thinking instead of having it cleaned (overdue) and re-fired, I'll have it replaced. Already been in a place where the boiler gave out after 20 years and flooded the basement, would like not to have that happen here.

Now to figure out if I want to have it all ripped out (DHW propane heater to) and replace with oil. Propane is so expensive around here, and I use so little, that it might make sense. Or not since I have, and love, gas cook stove. AARRGGHH - I hate having to make big decisions like this.

Stoked - just ordered myself a cs mill after finally cancelling my order from a smaller outfit. I specifically asked "is the 2-4 weeks leadtime accurate" 6 weeks ago, to which I was told "yes." I inquired at the 6 week mark to find out it was more like 8+ weeks before shipping. Bad business, I had to bail on that.

I cancelled the order and went to a better name mill for a few more bucks but less known problems.

Walked the woods this morning. Then cut grass. A lot of grass. Figured I might as well get most done while I could with good weather. Taking care of two of the three young ones while Mom and the third are at soccer practice. Salad and frozen pizza for dinner.

Oh boy. X27 joy.

If I didn't have a splitter to use, I swear I wouldn't burn elm. It sure burns nicely though.

Ha, no. That elm was in a wood delivery. I tried splitting some elm with the X 27 last year, wow, that was misery.
