I'll help if I can. Time is limited for accessing PM's - but give it a shot. Not really a kitty whisperer, just more like 5+ years of different cats from all walks of life and in all kinds of situations.

    Ouch!
I caught a feral kitten back in the 60's. A litter made the mistake of crossing the road in front of us as we were riding our bikes. The one I caught made it up a tree but not high enough to save itself from me grabbing it! Big mistake! Like an explosion in a needle/razor blade factory! But I didn't let go...Second big mistake!
Turned out to be the best cat we ever owned. Called it "Freddie". Freddie had a litter of kittens! (Third mistake?)

Some of this has been said already but, it takes time and patience to get them to trust you, sit quietly near them and talk to them some, get down on their level, sit on the floor or ground or sit on a small stool.
Get a bag of cat treats or cut up hot dogs in small bits, (tuna and salmon like that, too messy,) to make a trail to you, when they get close to you, and the goodies are all gone, don't touch them, don't even reach toward them let them go back wherever they're hanging out and do it again, never reach toward them when they are eating their goodies, if they start hanging out after the goodies are gone not running away then maybe you can let them smell you, then maybe you could touch them, so on, so forth.
If you can get some of Mama's smell all on you first that is good too, if you have them in the house and they have been laying on a towel or something if you can get that and get some of their smell on you even better.
I have had cats since I could walk, sometimes 4 or 5, sometimes only one at a time. I don't know the exact number but I have gotten quite a few kittens born outside to trust me and domesticated them.
Now I have one cat, I keep him in the house always, too many cats get injured, disappear, run over by cars, they get sick.
I got lucky with one outdoor cat she lived fifteen years

I swear they all say that at every visit for any dog. Of course when they see me, and I am fat, that just adds fuel to the fire.

hum, you know what happens then don't you? You end up keeping them. That's part of the issue for us now having six cats. We got attached to the kittens, I was very depressed and they helped alot. so we kept them. I could have sold them for a very good price, but couldn't part with them. We had all of them fixed. Those kittens are the best cats we have ever had. Ragdoll cats are very passive. Never scratch or bite. None of our furniture is destroyed.

I with you on that. I have 6, that keeps me very busy with the litter boxes. But I have kept my cats safe, and the birds are safe. But now have mice outside and other critters. My daughter has a Jack Russel that is death on mice and squirrels. He is too active for me, but would be a good deterrent to the rodent issues.

Bentley nibbles all the corn off the cob instead of just eating it all! He freaking loves it. I gave him half an ear raw. Talk about funny to watch. 20160613_210446.jpg 20160613_210446.jpg 20160613_210811.jpg

I've had two dogs that usually wolfed their food, that would delicately nibble Spanish olives until they could finally work the pimento out - they wouldn't touch the olive with anything but front teeth and tongue - looked like they were trying to hiss at the olive. Once they got the pimento out, that would be licked clean then slurped down. Then it was to nibble the green part into teeny-tiny pieces with the front teeth until that was finally gone.

Was a good 7-10 minutes of entertainment

Momma kitty test, I just let her outside. She was pacing on my daughters window sill talking away. My carpenter is here, is a huge cat lover and she likes him alot. She took a nice long rub in the dirt, visited her old dens, and came back and is laying under my truck.

He is going to pick up a litter box and litter for me, we will find a good place for a kitty door to a protected place for her litter box:).

Well she came in and out for several hours, almost like she was checking on me and the carpenter, and testing that it was ok to come and go. Then, came in ate a bit and curled up on my daughters nightstand. Perfect!!

Allow me to tell you about my experience and recommendations for kitty litter and boxes. I tried several of each. What I know is I don't like high cost, odors, or scooping. That being said, I recommend Precious Cat. available from Amazon for $16.49 40 lbs delivered![IMG]
For the litter box, I recommend Omega Paw Self Cleaning Litter box from Amazon $34.99 delivered. Watch some of the videos on Youtube about this litter box. It is every bit as impressive as they say.

I also use Arm and Hammer Cat Litter Deodorizer $3.59 at Amazon delivered.

Always have a scratch pole They prefer that over the furniture. This one only $31 and is worth every cent. [IMG]

She is a little skinny but she is a pretty kitty.
So, are you going to keep her?

Way too skinny, she is skinnier than the picture shows, almost a bag of bones poor lil thing, we will put some meat on her :stirpot:. I am guessing not over 9 months old. We committed to taking and keeping her last week as the rescue is not accepting adults and the adoption rate at the shelter here is dismal, other option was she would go to the barn cat pool where most are not adopted... She was released to us as a "barn cat" , they even clipped her ear during spaying to mark her as feral, except she is not feral. She is instead a dumped house pet that is tame, very gentle and affectionate. Her and my daughter fell in love, she sleeps in my daughters room with her, and happily rolls around on her back while daughter is jumping on the bed and bouncing her around:rofl: . She will be loved and cared for as long as she lives. Todays test letting her outside for the first time in over a week proved she knows she lives here now:) From what I have seen so far, I think she will be 100% indoor cat soon. For better or worse I could understand why she needed to revisit her previous dens in wild where she cared for her kittens.

WWW bought a large bag of cat food when we discovered the her and the litter here under the old garage before we knew what to do with them and also catch them. I will order some kitten food soon since she is so young and so skinny.
