Glad to hear that. While I was mowing last night I got to thinking about your post and thought it would not be a good idea. At best she would take it as someone who just wanted to vent, and not be helpful at all . If you had a discussion with her BEFORE quitting (and not at her house), then it would show a willingness to see if improvements were made, your having conviction in your position (ideas, issues etc) and belief that she might be able to make needed changes.

Enjoy the racing and just let it go

Installing the window ac in the garage so I can clean the disaster area in comfort :) Countertops going in the neighbors house that I hung cabinets in last week also. Won't even hit 60 here today (54* now). And rainy. Stove just shut off. Did get some riding in earlier in the day with a couple of other gals. Had a planned ride before our monthly LOH meeting, which we had at a local restaurant. Stunningly we stayed dry except a few stray drops just before we hit the eatery. However, I rode home in the rain - which seems SOP for me. Let's just say I rode 5 days this week (3 of them were to work and back - each round trip counted as 1 ride). All 5 times I have gotten wet .

I had a very proud dad moment today. I set up the forge and started working on a garden gate bracket for my neighbor. My 10 year old son asked if he could help. Of course. He grabbed gloves and safety goggles and got to work striking out the ends of the bracket with me.

He asked for a small scrap rod to hammer out while I worked on the heavier iron. I went over safety and how not to hold the rod too close to the hot work. So he gets it heated and starts working a taper out. He reheats it and puts a curl into it.

He moves onto another curl and with some guidance and help, this is morphing into a snake.

    20160611_120303.jpg

I folded the end over for him and he shaped the head out. I held the punches for the eyes for him to hit and finish it off.
A coat of beeswax and it is done.

I did not finish my project. It didn't matter. He burned my arm. It didn't matter either. I spent good quality time with him and passed on some skill and knowledge. That mattered.

I took a ride on Chunnel train today. A bit of a new experience. Took some crappy photos out the car window.

Driving down the ramp. There are two car decks hence two doors onto the train.

    IMG_3056.JPG

And down the length of the train. We got loaded first because they that I was with got a priority/flexible ticket. No matter when you show up you get put on the next train and you go first. (on and off)

Loading the few first cars behind us.

And the priority tickets include food and drinks. You stop at a waiting are where you queue to the front of the line. There is a small lounge/waiting area there and they give you a bag lunch or a wine and cheese bag. It was France so I opted for the wine/cheese plate. And I went thru the Chunnel drinking red wine out of a plastic wine glass. Kiwi came from the fruit bowl at the hotel.

And later in the day I drank proper pints at the proper temperature in a proper English pub.

Very cool. I remember seeing an hour long special on the Chunnel and how it was built. . I think it was on the History channel. Thought that tunnel was awesome. I use to enjoy many different shows the History channel and the Discovery channel had on. Not so much any more. Many of the ones I liked have been replaced.

Caffeine going in. I'm feeling that walk/run from last night. 5.4 miles just before dinner. Had a sheff's salad and several glasses of water/juice combo.

It was the annual ride your bike naked day in Brighton, England today. I encountered the tail end of the ride at its finish. I can tell you that it was anything butt the inside gatefold of a Queen album.

Food in the UK has a reputation for not being all that good. I give these guys credit for being honest.

This was my day yesterday IMG_20160611_162756709.jpg
Lots of fun on the lake yesterday. William got a lot of swimming in. He's getting used to the drill in and out of the boat, don't go onto the shore ( private land) wait for poppa to pick him up and onto the swim platform. IMG_20160611_162152994.jpg

    IMG_20160611_142932540.jpg
All of this culminating in this...

Started out for our walk this morning and got rained on. came home instead and had breakfast. Got a Jays game to watch, bread and buns to make, all sorts of chores but right now just surfing FHC and catching up on the events of yesterday. Interesting garden video of Butcher's to watch. When I grow up I want a garden like that!!
