    Another who overcame his demons but left us way too soon after in a helicopter crash after playing a gig with Eric Clapton. I was lucky enough to see SRV at what was one of his first performances after getting clean and sober.

    And of course one of my favorite all time bands.

    I have been going to their shows for 25 plus years and even at their age Rush is still putting the younger bands to shame playing almost 3 hour high energy shows. Unfortunately Neil Pert is starting to show the side effects of his over the top drumming for so many years and may be retiring from the long tour schedules. I can only hope he will do some live shows, just not as many.
