Cousin called the other day. He was driving home from work, and saw the car in front of him swerve out of the way for something in the road. This is a 2 lane........................anyhow my cuz goes to swerve, and sees that it's a chainsaw laying in the middle of the lane!!!! He stops, picks it up, puts it in the bed of his truck and continues home................................he makes a turn onto another road toward home, and finds another chainsaw in the middle of the road.................stops and picks that one up also. He's now got a Stihl and Husqvarna!! I've not pressed him for models or anything, as he said he's gonna wait to see if any "LOST" signs go up. But he did say that 1 is mine if no one claims them. Wait and see now!!
Lost and found on craigslist. Say you found something without giving details.... if they can provide saw details that proves it's theirs.
These responses are correct. Someone may earn their livelihood with those saws, or heat their home by way of them. Give 'em a break. But if all avenues are exhausted after a few weeks, saw on. That would be a tough loss for any of us though, right?
I would check local police. If my saws just came up missing I would report it. I would feel like a real dumb a $$ once I learned they where not stolen but fell of my truck.
Sounds like somebody forgot to shut their tailgate! I'd probably put a "found" ad up on CL as well without giving out details. That's a huge chunk of change to lose because of a brain fart.
If I wanted to post a classified and be sure nobody would see it, I'd put it in the local paper. Craigslist has like 99.5% of the market for such ads.
