Well folks, tomorrow's the big day! We've been dumped on with rain since yesterday and its continuing into this evening. Crossing our fingers it gives us a break tomorrow afternoon but if not it'll still work out. The tent's set up, lights hung, and the tables/chairs set. Most of my projects are done besides setting up a few things last minute due to the rain. It's been a long time comin and the day is here. Wish us luck! I probably wont get back on here for a few days. Next post i'll be a married man lol. Here's to the good times!
Well good luck my friend. I hope you are as lucky as I am. Most of my friends didn't do so well and boy it can get nasty. Try to make decisions based love and nothing else.
Congratulations, brother!! I hope you have a wonderful wedding, remember .....it isn't about the weather, its about YOU AND HER! It rained like a sum-beotch on our wedding day, I mean it POURED.....but they say that's good luck, and I believe it.... That was 16 years ago (anniversary is on Oct.26th), and I'd marry her all over again in a heartbeat!! She's my best friend. If I can give you any advice, keep it active and always open......treat her like gold, do your best to make her happy, and make sure she does her best to make you happy. It ain't 50/50, it's 100/100........ Here was our wedding song.....I still request this song any time we go dancing and love to hold her close when we dance to it.......very fitting song for the love of your life!!
A Word to Husbands by Ogden Nash To keep your marriage brimming With love in the loving cup, Whenever you’re wrong, admit it; Whenever you’re right, shut up. Gary
Best of luck to you smokin' You better not be back here for at least a week... or two! Get away. Relax You are part of the club now. In addition to the great advice above dont forget..... Rule #1 - Never ask her how much she spends on shoes and bags - lest she ask what you spend on [tools, cars, saws, or whatever other hobbies you have] Rule #2 - If you screw up rule one and she does ask, whatever it is it cost 50 dollars
#3 if 2 fails say, Yes dear but I use it! (Be advised I learned that from my grandfather. They were married 49 years and fought almost everyday) I'm happy for you smokin'! Hope you have a great day and many more to follow. Since we've started posting songs here's one of ours.
Congrats to you both! This year we celebrated our 36th. Through all the ups and downs of life, always keep it real for the one you love.
Congratulations. 40 yrs ago I was in N.J. It snowed 15" the night before our wedding (March 30th), day of the wedding it rained cats and dogs. All went well anyway, and haven't looked back. You get out of it what you put into it. I wouldn't have changed it for anything. Good Luck!
Congrats Bro... As said a bunch of times above, I wouldn't change a thing. We were married the 16th of December in 08. But been together about twice that. The deal was she had to graduate college. It took her 6 yrs to get her 4 degrees ) she is smart) Ours was Brad Paisley (Everything to me) As much as George Straight and Keith Whitley are my 2 favorite Country music singers (there is more, but gotta keep it simple) Brad was fitting for the occasion and the time period. She ain't a big Keith fan.
Take some picures, you might be too nervous to remember much about it. We were married in October 1969. 4 kids and 8 grand kids later, we are still happy together. We got married in a little military chapel with not one family member there. It is all what you want it to be.
Congratulations to you and your soon to be wife, Smokin. One of my daughters just got married, and it was with an "officiate" in their house. Me, both moms, his dad, my other daughter. Had lunch afterward at a nice place. Very low key. Focus on her all day and you'll be fine. She's why you're there. Oh yeah, have someone take lots of pictures....lots of pictures. Doing anything for a honeymoon? Well, besides the obvious.
