Picked this up for a good price today. 20160606_191836.jpg
2002. Comes with a 6' plow, a rear salter, doors fir the cab, power dump and power plow lift.

The catch... it hasn't been run in 5 years. I got the electrical systems functional and the gas drained from the tank. I'll pull the carb tomorrow and clean it and rebuild if necessary as well as some fresh oil.

Anything else I should think about before cracking it over?

MasterMech , this seems like your kinda thing.

What's this worth in running condition with the accessories?

Really, changing engine oil after cleaning the carb and draining all the old gas out of the fuel tank and lines is the main thing.

I'm not familiar with that particular motor, but it can't be radically different than any other internal combustion engine.

Make sure the brakes are functioning properly... Before you check the throttle to see if it goes.;)

Yes, the rear four all drive. There's even a manual diff luck to keep them all churning in tune.

I've heard these things are fairly unstoppable all locked in.

Already checked them. They're stuck on somewhat. Cable driven wet disc. I'm going to pick up a new cable and go from there.

Wonder if moisture settled in callipers and seized the pistons?

A neighbour has one that looks like yours minus the cab. He found it wasn't unstoppable the first time he test drove it, but he was in so deep he and his wife almost couldn't walk out. I've driven it a bit and it will climb out of a ditch's that almost too steep to walk up. Idle up to the slope, bip the throttle a bit and up you go. I'm 6' 2", old and creaky, and the brake petal is difficult to reach in that cramped operator platform so I usually use the hand brake. Check the chains to the rear wheels. They could be rusty and worn out, and need an oiling at a minimum. Have fun.

I'm 6'2" , not old and creeky though. Your reason is why I hate Polaris rangers. The seat is so high and there is very little leg room. Your all jacked up in there. And it blows all kinds of heat in there on your feet and legs.

The engine's behind the seat so engine heat isn't a problem. I ran it mostly for spring soil sampling when some heat would have been welcome. It might feel different on summer days in South Carolina.

The ranger motor is behind/under seat, but it has a radiator up front with a fan. That's on a Polaris ranger I'm talking about.

Good question on the worth. 6x4s, just aren't in as high a demand as the "toy" UTVs and the newer Gators. I wouldn't be surprised if you could still get $4k plus tho.

Impossible on these units. The brake is a wet disc setup located inside the transmission. Out of the dozens of these I have worked on, I think I have replaced exactly 1 brake pack. It is most likely a cable issue or the shaft/linkage is bound up somewhere.

Fun aside, Is that a liquid cooled Kawasaki engine in that? May have to check the radiator and antifreeze if it is. Make sure the thermostat is working etc.. We had some of those at our work/base in Connecticut

I misunderstood the use of wet brakes here. It's like a tractor I guess
