so remember my neighbor who said I had too much wood and it was an eyesore? she also vowed to cut down the 6' diameter oak because of the leaves before the end of the summer...well last night snuggling in for the night I hear CRACK!!BAM!! from my window couldn't see anything--thought it was the neighbor--this morning the very oak I know and love has let go a 9" diameter 20' long contribution to "her" gutter and back yard--I'm hurrying home to cut it up before she arrives for the weekend--watch out what you say--the trees have ears!! ha!
It was her tree? Ever think of just leaving it where it fell and then offering to clean it up for her....?....after she got a bid or two for a service to come out and dispose of one limb???
I wouldn't touch that tree. If she's "one of those" neighbors she'll blame that broken gutter on you. I'd let her see everything as it sits, and then offer to clean it up for her.
Unless of course that oak is on your property. Then I'd clean it up, rake her yard clean of all saw dust and twigs and leaves and play dumb lol.
there are no words to describe the injustice in the destruction of a beautiful tree--the process has begun--my whole backyard is covered in twigs, leaves, bark--my cat has run away--and the sun is in my teary eyes--today the part overhanging my house by 30' will be addressed--I'm not there to see it and don't know if my stomach could take it--by the way no limbs were left for me to cut for firewood and I don't expect any today unless one comes through my back window--there should be an arbor law to prevent such lame-brain actions--see pics
I assume you may think the tree was diseased--not so fast--the only crime committed here was by the homeowner who didn't want to rake the leaves--the oak has had residency since right after the civil war I'd say but more disgusting pics to follow...
Is the stump failing near the foot? Looks like the bark is worn away or something. Too bad, but that's the way it goes. After all, it is their tree. Don't let it get to you anymore than it has. Just remember, we haven't saved one tree, one whale, one whatever, yet!!
looks like that tree has root-rot.....bad. look at the heels around the base. Or is it moss and lichens? Hard to tell on my phone. If it does have root-rot, taking it down is definitely the right move. That's a ticking time bomb....
