If you can get the air shut off to it quick enough to either slow it down or better yet to shut it off they can be repaired pretty easy. If they don't it shut down it's pretty ugly. Shutting the fuel off doesn't help they are burning the oil from the oil pan and there is no governor to control the rpm they will really scream.

Man I pray there are young guys learning some of these things too. Shame to see some of the trades disappear with the old-timers. :(

I know I was thinking the same thing as I watch him. $2500 is what it takes to go to learn this trade. He worked 3.5 hours to bring this back to the proper tension and dish. It's actually a simple process but the craftsmanship is where the talent lies. He described what was wrong and how to fix it. I learned a lot from him today.

Don't laugh. That's how great ideas start! I found a 60" blade for sale. It's a bit pricy but comes with a sweet rustic predefined table top. Here ya go. Clean up the blade and wood, fine tune the wood, attach some legs, drop in a piece of glass or fill with clear epoxy and you have a kitchen of dining room table!!!:thumbs:

That's how they ship from the factory. I have the same case on mine. $600 is too bad for a blade that size new is almost $3000

walt it was nice talking to you Friday before everyone came. That was a wicked saw you took home should make quick work of the firewood at the church cutting day.
