    I don't know that I would say he was tough, but he does have a good survival instinct. But as for the rest, I'm thinking he was doing the one handed saw thing. It's either that or the chain brake failed.

    Over the years I've had a few kickbacks, but none that were bad enough to activate the chain brake. But then I always keep both hands on the saw with a firm grip and watch what I'm doing as well as where I'm cutting

    Been to that little town... yup he tough.. they do have weird gum trees down there that saws act funny in.. red gums are so tough termites don't eat them.. that makes saws act funny and dulls chains fast!

    Gramps taught me about gum pitch natural gum when I kid but I am not tough enough to chew that stuff:rofl: :lol::faint:but then again neither are termites:rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

    They use Picco chain for that. Smooth cut, Picco suave style.
