Look at that pristine Stihl logo on the recoil! Probably worth more than the saw itself!

Idk whole saw looks like a low hours unit. I'd still rather climb with a 020 than a 201!:saw:

Have you had a chance to try out a "proper" 201? I hear they are much better but it shouldn't have to be that way. A $600+ Stihl should not be the ugly ducking of the bunch requiring minor mods to even run acceptably well.

I have not and that's exactly why. For the money that saw should have been every bit as good as the 200 was before it!

That is a legendary top handle saw. Predecessor to the modern climbing saws. Lots of balls in that package.

    Wanna sell it?? ;)

I ran Stihl 015's in the trees for many years. They're a little heavier but they've got lots of good power. Still have around 10 of them!!

I knew you had this family of saws, wasent sure what model you had.

I have an 011 a few of them. More modern than this saw and heavy but it's a heck of a saw in a small package.

That's how the logo is on my grandpa's old 015. That I need to get running.

Gotta love grandpa's old top handles, huh, tskar ?

It's a pretty sweet saw. It hasn't ran in a few years. I'm going on vacation for a week now so it'll be a bit before I can work on it. Looking forward to running it next week.

The 020 and 015 being heavy is kinda cracking me up. :lol:Try climbing to the top of a giant fir or larch with an 044. Makes the 020 seem downright light as air.

No such thing back then. Not that a guy like me would have known anyway. I was young , dumb and full of........Rum? We were all on one saw plans back then so the 044 it was. I suppose we could have gone the other direction:

    :faint:
