Yup, I'd have to go with a newer Stihl 661 first. :)

Oh ya! There's lots that money would get spent on first. So many saws so little money!

I visited a friend yesterday who owns a tractor dealership, they were working on one in the shop.

Am I the only one that thinks that's a lot of bones for a plain 090 that's in average cosmetic shape and doesn't have a long bar?

    Still a cool saw tho.

Agree 100 percent.. who knows how it's been cared for... not a shelf queen... not a collector quality.. and close to price of a new 461..

Brian I agree. I think unicorn and I only hinted at it by saying there's a lot that money would buy first. I doubt he gets what he's asking. Especially on Craigslist.

Yeah, vintage saws have become one of those items that everybody is dragging out barns and garages and trying to sell for big $$. Somebody saw a mint NOS 090AV with a 72" bar go for $2000 on eBay and now thinks their well-worn specimen is worth big $$. Old McCulloughs, big Homelites, Magnesium Poulans, all of them. These were saws that could be had for nearly nothing less than 10 years ago. Folks were happy to give them away to somebody who would appreciate them. Now non-runners are selling for $4-500+ on eBay. :picard::doh:

Looks like it's an earlier model anyway - love the old Stihl logo. I have seen a few nicer ones in that price range. Seems pretty rare to find them in any condition under $1000, especially on Ebay. There was one that popped up in the classifieds on another site recently for around $600 I think, but I didn't have the cash.... :(

I've got one more spot left on my shelves, and it's reserved for an 090 - just gotta find the right one.
