The Jred runs great -- 170 compression after 3 pulls and would have gone higher if I kept pulling. The recoil spring needs to be looked at and the rubber AV mount on the handle needs replacement. Otherwise good to go.

Posted pics on Sawhawgz and early results say it is a 80. Probably will sell it this spring; not really a saw I need/want but it was a package deal.

Haven't decided yet. Might flip it as is or run it for a while and hope China starts making tanks.

 

Can't find much info on it online -- was hoping I could retrofit a chain brake; not sure? The 70's were available with and without...

Turns out the jonsereds is a 621 -- the silver top was painted black

 

$165 for the package plus ~$15 in gas

In my mind it was 15 for the maul, 50 for the Jred and 100 for the 044.

The o44 needs the most $TLC$ but I taped up the handle and I could run it as is for a while. The piston is spotless and compression is 150 on my gauge. There seems to be more and more China parts on ebay lately so I'm hopeful they will start making the tank.

I bought it mostly so I could see if it's really true that a 70 cc will be as fast a 066 with a <25" bar... will see soon. And then I need to pick a couple more saws to sell.

 

My husky 372 is not fast than the 650 in 18" wood??

And I am surprised that they don't make the 044 handle? Its one of the most popular older saws!

 

And it seems like every used 044-046-440-460 that I come across needs a tank.

They've started making recoil covers and some other plastic bits so maybe tanks will be next.

 

There is a new OEM tank only for $100 right now but I like the idea of a $40 complete assembly better I've never seen a china made tank for the 1128 saws.
