Picked up a couple of loads of maple last Sunday. Forgot to get a picture of the first load, but here is the second. Bother found a used bed, painted it and helped me put it on the truck. Been waiting on the Tommy Lift until I paint a bedliner inside it. After this I really really need to get it back on the truck.
First was this firewood can get a bit heavy, and I am kind of lazy.
Second is while loading this load, I was using the receiver as a step to get in and out of the bed. Coming down I slipped and tore my leg open to the tune of 9 stiches.
My first thought to stop the bleeding was throw some wood chips in to clog it up. Decided that may not be in my best interest so made it to the cab and used an old shirt and packing tape after I had the bleeding under control. After getting that taken care of I loaded up my equipment, some smaller logs in the center of the bed and the last one was the round on the back passenger side.
    Then off to emergency care.

Glad it wasn't worse and maybe it will give a push to get going on the bedliner in between all the rain. Plus, there are several more loads of maple to get.

Ouch! No doubt about it. Cutting firewood is dangerous. Its not IF you are going to get a knock, cut or worse, its WHEN. Our job is to minimize the known hazards. My hand got pinched the other day and it was my fault because I absolutely hate to wear gloves and dont. I have to remind myself everyday...Dont hurry and think. Its like wearing a seat belt, you got to go with the odds that will keep you safe. Sorry about your cut. Heal up quick!

:startled: 9 stitches that sucks, get that Tommy left back on there:)
I use a dolly to to load my trailer too, roll it up the ramp, much lower than a truck though.
I hope you heal up fast, be safe out there.
    Congrats on the good :woodsign:

The receiver and hitch of my truck has accounted for more cuss words than any other piece of equipment I own. Well, that *#^*%*^ root tiller that refuses to start may be close. Feel better soon.

So sorry to hear of and/or see of any injuries to one of members. Looks like it hurt like heck, anything to the shins is extremely painful. Well, at least you got injured getting wood, not loading groceries or something stupid like that.

That cut reminds me of when I wiped out on a mini bike, in the mud and the Flywheel screen chewed up my leg.

Oh, I'm good to go. Was going to unload the truck today, but thought I should mow the forest (aka lawn). Plan on getting a load or two this weekend, weather permitting. Looking back, I should have just filled the truck before urgent care.
Thanks for all the good wishes.

OK Stephie, but pay attention to the pull of the stitches on your shin. I had only 2 stitches on my shin from a biopsy, and I managed to pull them out from minimum exertion, just tip girlfriend:)

And that was when I was young and healthy!
