Good report at VA doc, said blood work was great, I had lost 10#, looked strong, once injury doc cleared me and gout pain gone I'm good to go. I see the surgeon Friday for x-rays and evaluation.

Thank you all, for all your prayers. ☝

Thoughts and prayers going out to folks in Northern Kansas, dealing with clean up and rebuilding after this recent tornado....
I hope none of our members (or their extended family/friends) have been affected.

Guess it is my turn guys and gals. Sleep. That is what I need the most. In the last 3 week's I've averaged around 3 hours per night and that just is not enough. Last night, it totaled around 2 hr 15 minutes. One night was less than an hour. No idea why; it is just that sleep does not want to come too easily. Even took some sleeping pills and they did nothing. I've tried about all I know to try. Needless to say, today has really been a bummer because I worked hard the last couple days. Yesterday was a lot of hoeing amongst other things so even with hard work, it doesn't allow sleep. I did have some bad pains in the back last night, no doubt from the hoeing but I'm still thanking my Lord for allowing me to do that as I have not been able to do much of that sort of things for years and years.

Backwoods Savage Some one in your family needs to do some genealogy research and when you can't sleep, start reading it to you. Puts campinspecter to sleep every time I talk at length about his family tree.

All kidding aside, I hope you can resolve your sleeping problems. Sleep deprivation is the hardest thing to deal with.

I am about to embark on a major career shift hopefully for the last time!

The reasons well I won't get into but I could use your thoughts and prayers my friends! This is a BIG change for our family.

Years ago I drove tractor trailer / semi over the lower 48 and Canada. That ended when the wife needed me home and frankly I wanted to be home. Well due to various reasons I am leaving my employer where I have spent the last 11 years as a production manager. The owner is literally the greatest man I have ever known with the biggest heart of anybody I have ever met. He has taken care of my family far above and beyond what an employer should do. Through thick and thin. I consider those I work with to be family!

The lord has led me to a good driving job that will get me home weekends and some nights with great benifits. Is reginal and pays well so I will be close to home of anything happens..

It's a Christian company and every driver I talk to wouldn't go anywhere else they do everything possible to keep drivers happy and make them feel like a person not a number unlike loke the mega trucking companies....

We never thought that trucks would happen again but they have. The lord opens doors where others close and I feel that this is the right move.

Please keep us in your thoughts my friends switching careers after 11 years is very hard and exhausting mentally for our family.

Yes, there's been a rash of them here lately. Infact our sirens just went off about 30 minutes ago. The tornado was just north of us this time.

Thanks for the thoughts, guys. But right now as far as for me it's just trying to keep up with keeping the basement dry, as I don't have the best water shedding land around the house. Need to work on that at some point.

Backwoods Savage- consider reading KJV scripture....it's very relaxing, and important. Might make you sleep like a babe.
Pallet Pete- you're a good guy, I'm sure you and your family will be blessed upon this new direction. Congratulations
Glad you're ok Chvymn99, keep an ear to these things. I'm sure you have a plan in place, should the need arise.
Heavenly Father, I ask that you will cover our FHC family with your Grace, may you protect us and lead us to serve your Will. I ask for this and give thanks and praise in the loving name of our Blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
    Amen. And Amen.

Our prayers go to you too Dennis! You and Judy my friends!

That's why this is such a tuff change.. In the driving industry doors open up everywhere after 6 months to a year experience. I have well over that experience level but that was many years ago. Due to that I can get a decent pay range but my options are limited to start out again because my experience isn't recent.

At 6 months to a year I can go local if I need to but that doesn't sound like it will be an issue given how much I will be home.

This company does the majority in Michigan and I will be home often through the week and on weekends. I am not going OTR this time although it is considered reginal. Family is first! It is a Christian founded company and they believe in family first as well!

She will have a harder time than I will and frankly my decision to go local and be home every night will be decided by her once I have some recent experience. I am not a job jumper and I can say the lord truly has put this in our path. There's just too much pointing us this direction to ignore it.

Thank you all very much! Having a chain of comfort makes this much easier! For both of us...

You guys ain't gonna believe this, back in ER w a swollen leg, they did a Doppler test and found blood clots. Waiting to see what they want to do. Not worried, just want to get back on my feet and go to work. God must have more he wants to teach me.

Blood clots are nothing to sneeze at for sure. Beware and take care of it. Stay on top of it whatever you do. Prayers sent.

Dennis, they gave me blood thinners and bedrest until I can see my VA doc next week. I'm doing what I'm told. Thanks everyone for the prayers.
