Make a few passes with harrows, fill the ruts with gravel, and marvel at your all season "forever path" to the wood pile. But lukem probably has the better idea.

Another vote for what lukem said. I get that every few years when Consumers Energy has to get to the utility pole in my yard. Only once have they come in late summer when the ground is hard as a rock. Usually it's late spring when the ground is mush.
Make another set of ruts perpendicular to this set of ruts. so you end up with a #. have a bbq and play lawn tic tac toe.
The grass seed will work until you drive over it again in wet weather, I like saskwoodburner's idea. I had some four wheeler ruts in my yard like that and filled them with chips and dust limestone. I like the look and it lasts a lot longer.
I use what I got.. I have stihl. 130 split shaft combi unit. they sell a 6 inch cultivator attachments for around 100 dollars... removes ruts in no time flat.. basically fluff dirt back up and toss some grass seed..
How do you like the cultivator on the 130? I'm contemplating picking up that attachment. I've got the line trimmer and the blower. Picking up the articulated hedge trimmer next. 130 is total overkill with the line trimmer, it's a beast!
love it! I got the cultivator, chainsaw (of course) string trimmer and me and plow guy split a powerbroom. that 130 will push all those no problem.. good thing about cultivator is you can pull whichever blades you need to for gardens or whatever.. I pull outside discs off to go around tomato plants for example..
The stihl split shafts (combi.. units) comes in 3 sizes.. 90 110 and 130... 90 power head is 299 ... 130.. $ 369 I got 130... cultivator is $99 on chain saw is another 120..
When you buy the power head and first attachment it's pretty expensive. However as you add attachments the cost comes down since you are only paying for the attachment and no motor. I usually steer clear of combination units but I did a lot of research and the kombi system is legit. I went with the 130 because it's going to last a long time for homeowner use so the extra 80 bucks over the smaller sizes is a no brainer . It's got balls for sure. My dad bought one after he tried mine out. He bought the power broom. That thing moves some dirt. He's going to buy the chainsaw. I'd have bought the chainsaw already but I have an electric pole saw by Remington that I got for free so no need yet, but I do want it.
On second thought I think I will get a cultivator for my trimmer, they have them at the Home Depot for 90 bucks. I have some other areas I could use it on too Thanks for the idea Canadian border VT
Glad to help! you will love it with fixing ruts.. works great.. the chainsaw attachments are awesome for trimming tree branches before mowing season. and a 10 inch cross cut saw blade will keep take down 3 inch maples to create a trail. no sense working with a on your kneesite for saplings..
Almost same story.. I was checking one out for my dad for father's day... he went out and bought a non split shafts 130.. I said gee dad I wished you would have talked to me a split shafts would be so much easier as you don't have a truck.. bring attachments you want.. so he bought me the 130 split shaft for my birthday a week later.. probably 5 years ago. he has 30 acre camp I got 22 acres it's been used! But when he goes to camp now he takes mine.. I also have a 12 foot Fiskars regular pole saw have not used it since I got chainsaw attachment!
