You can come over and do mine

    Looks really nice.

I want in the worst way to replace our entire deck with "Trex" but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :bug:

Ours is all cedar planks on a pressure treated frame.

5 feet wide and runs 66 feet down the south side , then 40 feet up the east side of the house.

Been replacing boards every year for the past several.

    Again, great job.

Colder this morning, at about 60 F in the house.

    Brrrrrrr.

Lit off the big Whit and got lazy and impatient and turned up the stat on the Quad to gitterdone quickly.

    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOK
Getting ready to start doing the new flooring in the place, but gotta get the Pergo from the basement up 15 feet to the south deck and don't want to carry the stuff up the stairs and risk damaging the snap lock edges in the process, not to mention I don't feel like going up and down 2 flights of steps a buttload of times.

Soooooooooooooo, I decided there had to be a better way.

Brought the skid steer up to the house and ran the bucket all the way up then measured what I needed to reach the top of the deck rail.

    About 6 feet will do.

Headed down town to ACE HRDWR and grabbed some ABS pipe, T fittings and glue.

Gonna whip up a little "Pergo lift" rack that will bolt onto the bucket of the skid steer.

Will be able to lay many pieces of Pergo in the lift then raise it to to deck so we can pack it into the house.

    Work smarter, not harder. :D

I will get some pix when I get things underway.

Really had not planned on laying 600 SQFT of new flooring at this time, but this always seems to be how it goes.

Somebody gets a bug in their butt and it's off to the rodeo we go again.

    Home improvement moving ahead well.

Issue of getting the flooring up to the main level without carrying it up two flights of stairs was a real worry.

I don't do stairs much any more, at least not several reps in a short time.

Also need to protect the flooring from getting damage to the edges.

Carrying it up the stairs is just asking for trouble.

Decided to build a super dooper Pergo lifter attachment for the Skid Steer.

(When the pix were taken the platform did not have the sides added to coral the flooring from sliding off)

    That is today's project

And the rains have returned, so not sure if we will get much lifting done.

Pergo and water is a bad combination

I make no apologies for the crude design, as it is likely a one project gizmo

Last night the idea of adding a dividing wall in the living room area came up, and with the floor bare (Carpet ripped up) would be a great time to gitterdone.

Weather is all over the map, with sun, clouds, then rain, then more sun, then more showers.

The house was cold this morning, so tossed a ripping fire in the big Whit to get the chill off.

Hope things improve a bit as we need to get moving on the home improvement.

I love the cool weather, but need it to stay dry.

    Yesssss.
Stack it in the house for a day or so to get it used to the humidity and temperature.

Got the Pergo Lifter going today and managed to lift all the snively pieces up into the house.

Stupid little rain spritzes kept trying to mess with us, so we decided to hang it up on lifting the main bulk of the full planks up to the house.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Penofin is the other stain I'm looking at. One of my buds has used it on his deck and it looks great. He swears by it.

He just nipped me for biggest and as usual caught the most! :headbang:

Really tough day out there! Struggled to put just a few in the boat. Low pressure front put em in lock down(or lock jaw) mode. We did see a few on the beds. But we didn't harass them. Nit picked a few on deep grass and a couple off points early before the wind started. We made a day of it and played some with the new gear and a pick list for the upcoming Tackle Warehouse sale.

We won't be able to hit the water for a bit as Joey has to finish up with his driving classes next weekend. And we got some yard work, Fence repair, garden prep to get done.

The key to becoming a good fisherman has little to do with gear,
and more to do with photo editing!!!
Looks like you got the better catch.
    See how easy it is?

    Well now.

Still raining this morning, so getting more Pergo upstairs is likely not gonna happen, at least not in the next few hours.

Gonna start ripping off the baseboards and getting carpet cut out of the entry area.

After that it's time to move the HUUUUUUGE china hutch so we can get after the wall with a fresh coat of paint.

Bad part of a remodel when your house is chucked full of stuff is trying to shuffle stuff from one area to another while to work on things.

The plan is to tear out the carpet, paint the walls and then lay down the new flooring.

Once we get one area done, then replace the baseboard and move the furniture back in place.

Gawd this is going to be a PITA.

who's idea was this anyway ?????

Gonna be cool once it's done

Took some pix of the dinning room area and the starting point by the rear entry and the hall tree.

Best thing is that there are several pieces of furniture that are heading out once the kids get their new house finished (Move in by late August)

The living room area is our "office" and is currently the "Lay down yard" (Construction slang for material storage area) and is a real mess.

Trying to keep some semblance of a household while we gitterdone is gonna be tough.

Once we get through the dinning area then we can at least have the hutch and the table back into a usable state.

We are going to add a little wall in the living room area to cover up the office counter and such from the view from the dinning/kitchen area.+

The new wall will sort of copy the one on the right and have an open window to allow air to flow from the stove waaaaaaaay back in the corner to the left in the piccy.

A great time to do this with the carpet out and before we do the Pergo in that area.

OH NOZ, I think will711 raided my place - a ton of pellets disappeared out of the yard :hair:.

Whew! they made their way into the shed**

The pallet is homemade for that space since I only had 26" of width to work with. I used a packing crate for a machine at work, removing parts that stuck up and adding scraps of wood for the slats (there were only 4 to begin with). I made it yesterday, so wasted no time in putting it to use.

I think it's safe to say that the shed floor will not blow away even in a hurricane (the metal shell might though )

This coming weekend I plan on moving around some of the pellets in the basement so I can place that ton that left in front of the shed on the bottom of the pile. Then I'll put the displaced pellets on top. I think I can just squeeze the ton in there (which means I have to move at least 1 ton, twice, of the pellets currently inside).

Then at least I will only have 6 tons sitting there, in a nice, neat rectangle, that I can cover with a tent at some point.

Good use of left over STUFF.

Gotta love all the stuff you can scare up for little to no $$$ and get lotsa good out of.
