Wow. I have to go through this whole thread now. Need more time. Grizzly Adam . I need you to add more time into my day again please. And thank you.
I probably wouldn't have even known the bear was there if it wasn't for my German Shepherd. I was on the couch by the fire watching a movie when he started growling a death growl and every hair on his body was standing up and he was acting ready to attack whoever or what ever that was at the door.
I was doing some work north of town the other day and on my way back I pulled up a back road to look for some standing dead trees. These pics are taken about a 20 minute drive from my house. They were taken with my Iphone 5s so they arent as crisp as Id like but figured you all might like to see them. I did find a few standing dead sub alpine fir trees that Ive been obsessing over ever since I discovered them but that is a tale for another thread!
I have been checking out BC lately as in a place to move to. Not for political reasons as some might suggest more for a change of pace and to have less people around. From everything I have seen it is very similar to where I live right now without all of the people.
We went from Wy to Co today for a doc appt, it was an absolutely crazy traffic compared to up here (moved from CO). Hit the gas peddle and go as fast as you can till the next red light or have idiots stuck in traffic cut you off and make things dangerous, then stomp on the breaks, stressful and ridiculous!!! I miss the amenities of not living in a town with everything in a store, but would not trade the peace of living here without the frantic rat race. It used to take me about 3.5 round trip back and forth, with the population explosion since legal pot and growth in general, it was 5 hours of driving today I do not regret moving to a small town with less people, glad we did it, off the hampster wheel and out of the rat race and traffic jams.
Ive lived in BC all my life from the city of Vancouver to Whistler to the Rockies in the eastern part of the province. Its amazing how diverse it is. Vancouver on average only gets a few days of snow a year whereas we have snow on the ground all winter in the Rockies. I think its a province that can suite most persons climate requirements. I miss the ocean but you couldnt pay me to move back to the city. Great memories and a great place to visit but not for me anymore. Ive never been to Colorado but when I was a bit younger I was a fanatical waterfall ice climber and Ouray was on my hit list. It sounds like a neat state. Enjoy your hunt. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up.
