I'm thinking you were on an outing with your riding buddies...? I liked the custom gray ovals over the MC patches.... and naw, you've never been considered an amazon in any sense of the word. You're just a good ol 'down home' girl that knows what she wants and goes about the business to see she gets it. To quote Louis L'Amour on any number of his westerns...you are one ..."to ride the river with".

The work you do and the improvements you make are nothing short of awesome, StarGazer. I'm duly impressed.

Thanks for the flowers, but don't forget the other women here on FHC!

Woodwidow has handled railroad cross ties, and the same for bogieb and has pictures. (you'll have to page back and scroll to the bottom of the page to see the picture of her fine work) Plus she also rides a motorcycle. I'm sure there are other women here on FHC that are equally as capable. That includes the wives of some of the members here.

Still, I love flowers and I'll take all I can get! As for riding, I have only done a little this year. I'm trying to focus on the work at hand. Next week, I get to fell some mid sized black locust :saw:and C/S/S them for a neighbor! :axe::stacke: :dancer:And then back to my work. o_O

Take the time to do something special for yourself, try to fit a bike ride in. Even if it's a short one.

And then there is Snowy Rivers who runs big machinery, reconditions pellet stoves (literally takes them totally apart and rebuilds) and has a host of other talents. All the women on this forum are an inspiration in some manner!

Agreed, I love the kind of ladies that frequent the forum. Being a reasonable newbie, it takes me a while to associate people, whether ladies or gentlemen with their particular skillsets or talents. The total acceptance of indivuals whether they're men or women, the level of tenacity and a hefty dose of humor thrown in makes this a FUN place to hang around !!!! ....and don't forget Kimberly. I don't thing that gal is afraid of anything.

I ended up swiping 3 cross ties from my driveway instead of 4 to finish the job. Then I hauled up some well composted mulch which I may leave as is, or put down some grass seed and turn the path green.

Here's a slightly different view but with the arbor which I created/built for about $65
    IMG_4304.JPG
And if you think I have a sore back with this construction, these should make you shudder!
The first picture is of my back shortly after it was broken (shown is the lower lumbar vertebrae)
    spine2.jpg
The next one was after the first surgery. As you can see, I broke one of the screws. That was due to my falling multiple times trying to walk with no feeling in my legs and feet. (I almost did it too :)) I refused to be confined to a wheelchair!
    spine3.jpg
The next picture is after the second surgery a year later (double)
    spine4.jpg
And the next picture is for reference. It is what a normal spine should look like.
    Spine1 normal.jpg
As you can see, even after the surgeries, my spine hadn't been put back to where it needed to be which is why I only have about 25% use of my legs. But 25% is better than none, so I'm happy. And if y'all think it doesn't hurt, like every day, y'all would be wrong.

  Yep, and I use a good synthetic 75w140 gear lube to keep things running smoothly though it still seems to grind a bit! :D And of course the house rules, pics or it didn't happen, so I had to! :handshake:

Shouldn't there be a grease fitting somewhere with all that metal?

I have to admit StarGazer, these photos of you are not exactly what I was expecting... You DID say you'd post a few when you're ready. But if you want to let us see you from the inside out and a little bit at a time...well, thats ok in my book.

On a serious note, dang, that back must have hurt pretty good getting in that condition. And there ain't no doubt it hurts daily. Good thing that old Harley ain't a hardtail...
