I am fortunate to have at least 8 guys from online Chainsaw forums from 10-45 minutes away. A couple I met at a gtg when I only had two small Poulan saws that didn't come out of my truck. They have become life long friends!
I never just had a small Poulan saw. I don't own a Poulan now. Wait. I have a parts one I picked up free. The only one I bought to flip too see what the wild thing was all about. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough once I actually ran it!
I cut all the firewood I needed for 2 1/2 years with a Poulan Pro 4218. I went to a gtg and found out I wasn't doing things right! Still have both of those Poulans! They don't get any run time these days!
Dad's 1981 3400 & my 4200,around 35 years old still very impressive powerhouses. Am still watching/waiting for a strong running 5200,though I'd probably settle for a 5400 instead . They sure don't make em like they used to......
I picked up this Poulan last summer at a yard sale. Pulled it part way apart for cleaning and carb kit. Currently waiting reassembly! I can't wait to run this one!
I hear ya on that one. I am sure that there are like-minded individuals near by, but I have not seen any with this group. I guess I need to spread the word here and gather some new recruits!
Super 650,very rare predecessor to the 750 arrived this afternoon via FedEx. Only sold for about a year 1977 - to early 1978.Somewhat of an experimental model, tested out on the West Coast,a few got out elsewhere too. Slightly smaller @6.11 cubic inch/100cc,this model is seldom seen.Shares quite a few parts, such as the 2 piece electronic ignition module & other things with others in that series.
It makes alot oh noise but I think it has an air leak seems to wonder around with tuning but just run the pizz out of it till it breaks then I'll go all out on it.
Thanks! The reason I have all of the Craftsman's is I only know of one dealer about an hour away from me that sold Poulan, Husky now. It's very hard to find any green Poulans around here. Anything bigger than a 3400 is basically non existent unless it comes from another chainsaw guy. Back in the day Pittsburgh was a big Sears area with at least 5 stores within a 10-15 mile radius and even more a few more miles out. I like the big Poulans but can't see paying the prices they are bringing right now. Plus, p/c's and other parts are super scarce. I'm super happy with the 3 big saws in the back. I just wait for really good deals. I can't get a running Poulan 5200 for what I paid for them.
It does not belong in the pics yet - not completely gone through runner. Hey, you got a free bar out of the deal.
