I'll bet it's awesome on the inside. Flame birch is beautiful EDIT: mike bayerl there may be a woodmiser there!
Woodmizer would be ideal. There was definitely some flame figure when down in the butt swell. Crotches are always a crapshoot. Never know what kind of figure you'll have or if it's full of ingrown bark until you open it up or or if it will go all wonky and tear itself apart while drying.
BTW, I had some black birch milled up (on a Woodmizer) about 5 yrs ago. The lumber turned out really nice. A lot of little knots, but I got enough nice clean pieces out of for a table and some leftovers. It was really heavy and strong wood, lovely to work with and finish.
Cell service for Verizon is excellent the tower is on the mountain behind the farm. As for other carriers I'm not sure I do know at&t is not real good.
We have a store in the local town of martinsburg, was there yesterday so I scouted out the gtg site on my way home. Sure is pretty back along that ridge ! Can't wait till next week........
