I never used to understand people saying yards looked bad with wood stacked. But then, over the years I have seen some that really do look terrible but with just a little work, it could look neat at least.

Now if the wood is stacked neat, I have no use for anyone who would complain about a neighbor having his wood in his own yard. It is none of their business. To me it is something to be proud of. You are providing heat for your family and helping the environment too, so long as you let the wood dry before you throw it into the stove and also have a good clean burning stove that does not smoke out or stink out the neighborhood. In addition, it make perfect sense to cut and burn wood as it saves you many dollars and you can afford to keep your house warm while your neighbors keep their homes at a temperature where they have to bundle up inside their own home. That does not make sense to me. I want to be comfortable in my house and I want to dress lightly and prefer my lady dresses even more lightly.

Very well said, I 've seen the movies where yards in Texas and California have oil wells pumping away. To me the wood stacks in our yards seems much more natural.:fire:

The real truth of the matter!:thumbs::thumbs:

My favorite line is Locust Post in his signature if your wife is fully dressed you need more wood on the fire!

Before wood heat.....I was a single guy wih oil heat and thermostats set to 55 degrees.. I wore flannel shirts and coats in house in winter. With wood heat.. house is at 80 degrees. I am happily married and on weekend my wife doesn't get out of her nightie on cold winter days! and brings me coffee and breakfast in bed !

No matter what happens in future in my life.. Woodstove stays .. wife stays.:D.. Wood pile is going to get bigger!

My inlaws are in north central Cal valley, I think they are nuts. High crime, cannot go to walmart and be safe shopping, major water restrictions, furnace at low 60's* in the winter and central air set at 82* minimum in the summer. :loco:  Our house is warmer than most for my medical issues, but WWW is happy to don a tank top after work at night.

Next time it is snowing and blowing and colder than all get out, (if that happens in Ohio ) invite her over for some coffee and maybe a slice of peanut butter pie so she can enjoy some of that good warmth FHC members are known for!

You don't know what i go thru to post a picture but it's getting easier--here's my loaded GMC--I'm bringing load after load home to make that split "wood" fence between me and my neighbor--will take a pic of the offending area tonight and attempt the post tomorrow --ha!
