terro**st society, after all they have experience in running anti establishment operations. Knitters likewise, don't let either group go unwatched. The boss is both.

Well fought through the lawn with the little beast of a mower while the yard boss finished planting her annuals.

Going to Falls and scope out the JD tractors in the morning then have to mow the shops lawn because the fella who trades space for labor is ill.

Friday night going bullheading with some friends. It is an annual mid May fishing night. We go to Warner Bay on Lake George which is deep cold water (good for small mouths a bit later in the year). The bullheads are firm and the meat pure white and really sweet when fried with a bit of wine batter. Used to be 9 of us, it started as a keg party many many years ago. No keg now and the we only number 5.

We have maybe 5 similar annuals of different themes with different people through the year. They are great fun but also a little scary when I look around and see less of us each year. :faint:

Oh well, at least there is still some of us. :smoke:

Can someone tell me what the song "rubberband man" is about? I have known and sung and danced to it since I was a kid, but...

About making music with a rubberband. No, really! Written as a kid's song.

Dreary, wet day here....62*. Hopefully, rain will cool down & harden the brand new asphalt road enough so it can be opened to car traffic.......no heavy trucks/delivery vans will be allowed for another 3 weeks. But on the + side, no more big, muddy craters to drive through.
Otherwise, just hangin' out.......adult beverage time is near.

i'm going to continue working on the third and final forms for the stationary engine building. making pipe-ways so that we can do fluids to the engines under the floor. Fuel, starting air and feed/return radiator pipes all go to the rear shed roof. should be ready for concrete after next weekend. Fairbanks Morse 4 cylinder 32E14 engine - Page 2 - SmokStak and Atlas Diesel Found in old Connecticut Factory - Page 10 - SmokStak

then we can prep for the flat work (floor), and install the Fairbanks engine. It's much easier to build the structure when you have a concrete floor to work off of.

    have a good day fishing!

Unfortunately, I'm working in Philly babysitting our Hubsite. Landlord is doing maintenance on their building switchgear so we'll be on generator good portion of the day. Between all the tenants in this building there are over 40 generators down on the basement track level that will be running. It sounds like a freight train running through your head when they are all running at the same time.

Roof all done and the bill paid

Bid was $9995.00 and after the tear off and the needed roof sheeting and a few other things were fixed, a new skylight was added and such and the dust settled the total came to $11169.00

This chore has been weighing heavy on my mind for several years and the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Glad it's done with and finished.

The outfit did a fabulous job and it looks great.

The new roof is far and away better than what was here even when the house was new.
Better material all the way through.

All new vents, new skylight, new flashing all around.

Now on to cleaning up all the dust that seemed to fall from everywhere while the roofers were thumping around up there, :hair:

Just finished perimeter-spraying the house, back gardens, driveway, wood edge, and all trees with Tick & Flea repellent:

    1 Gallon White Vinegar,
    1 Gallon Water,
1 Bottle (32 Oz.) Lemon Juice,
1/8 - 1/4 cup (Dawn, Ajax, etc.) Dish Soap - acts as a binder.

with the 4 Gal. backpack pump sprayer I picked up @ Harbor Freight the other month on sale .. Works good, quality as good as any I've seen in the box stores.. 8 Gallons later, we'll see how this goes.

Off to do the work thing, have a great day all.

UPDATE: The new road was opened yesterday at about 3PM after a lot of rain helped cool & harden it.....yours truly got the honor of being the first vehicle on it........as it should have been, since I was the only one doing any "yelling" and letter writing to the park owners about how bad the road was.
    Anyway, the final result:

Tractor shopping is finished. JD (with all the extras I want) was just too much for the Mrs to swallow. SO .....

Ordered the Troy built XP super bronco FAB XP with 3 stage snow blower, 10 cu ft dump trailer, bumper kit too look good while mowing, and tire chains. The dealer tossed in a mulch kit.

The tractor and add ons will arrive on the 26th and be put to work just in time for our Memorial Day fish fry which is taking place here instead of the camp this year. I may even extend the manicured area out to the pond again. Used to keep it trimmed but let it go the past 3 or 4 years and just sliced the area with the Ford 9N and cutting bar.

Came in about 450 bucks under my allotted (by the Mrs) budget, BUT, I may just keep that a secret.

I figure once more for the old Craftsman then she gets retired.
