Spotted bass? I've been trying to find some time to hit the streams with a buddy of mine, it seems we're both on different travel schedules so we're never in town the same week! This weather's been killing me, it's so great for some pre-spawn fishing!!!

Nice pic! Im hoping to go large mouth bass fishing with my son Saturday night. Its always a tough call, bass, rainbows or kokanee? So many options so little time!

I finally got out last week. It was cold and rained on us, but it was worth it! A buddy and I hit one of our honey hole creeks where we've each caught 20+ smallies before in an evening, but it was pretty slow that night. We both caught one small mouthed bass, mine was just over a pound and his was close to a 2 lb, which is a monster in this creek. No pics, maybe next time we'll remember to bring our cameras.

I haven't done much bass fishing yet. Got on some good crappie yesterday and my daughter helped me land a pike on an ultralight with a crappie jig. I hooked the fish and didn't know what it was, then she asked if she could pull it in so I gave her the rod and she pulled it in. Didn't know it was a pike until it was beside the boat. image.jpeg

Pike are such cool looking fish. Maybe once a year I get a chance to fish for them in Michigan, I don't even care if I catch one as long as somebody I'm with pulls one in.

Brother in law with a fat smallie our first time on the water a couple weeks ago.

I, of course, only managed a couple little largemouths. I did get to watch a MONSTER pike follow my spinnerbait up to the surface about six feet away, then turn around and mosey off.

Nice smallie! That doesn't happen to be a lake right outside Coldwater MI, does it?

No, we were between Dexter and Pinckney. He got a new-old boat over the winter, and that was the maiden voyage. The water is still pretty cold around here, but we're going to try again today as soon as I get home.
