Not that I know of. I've never heard of them. I got her from a cbr breeder.

Have you discussed your issues with a reputable dog trainer? Those aggression can be controlled with the proper intervention.

I think she was stressed from the hotel stay acceptable or not. She's been fine since. Didn't want to put her in a kennel for 3 days while we were gone.

I am not a fan of kennels either. 2/4 of the last batch of dogs were excellent travelers, I traveled twice per month back then. One particular trip in 2006 I took two with me for work and WWW took two with him for hunting and we met up across the state for New Years Eve. Bummer the two I had were not accustomed to traveling and both refused to eat and seemed scared, but perked right back up after the "pack" was back together 2 days later. Hard to say if Maple would have been the same, or better, or worse if you had done a kennel instead of bringing her with you.

Blondie is from a funny litter of puppies and has quirks. I somehow met two other people with dogs from the same litter, either we did stuff alot differently, or we got off lucky, maybe the "pack" we had at the time, but I am grateful she is not as afraid of the world as her littermates..... That said, I have owned alot of dogs, and this one is hands down the sweetest one ever.

Maple would have cried herself hoarse had we left her at a kennel.

Thank goodness she didn't come from the Greenfields group. Apparently they use a number of different breeders, many of which are Amish. A lot of the dogs are from puppy mill environments. Researched them recently and found both good and bad reports. The negatives cited health issues and temperament issues related to in-breeding. They are located in the central Pa. area. Friends of mine living down there have gotten 3 dogs of various breeds from them and had no problems so far, but other reports aren't so positive. Hope she is doing well.

    You might be surprised.

I had never taken any of my dogs to a kennel when I was at my previous abode (30 years). After Prince's buddy passed, we couldn't even put him in the pen while we were at work because he cried and howled all day (literally - my neighbor let me know after giving it a couple of weeks).

After moving here, I knew I would have to kennel my him if I was to go anywhere. I took him in for a trial 1 night stay and he did great! I was really surprised as he had dog aggression (neighbor's dogs attacked him one too many times - of which the kennel was informed), so I thought he would be really stressed and cry. When I went to pick him up he showed absolutely no signs of stress; he was a happy and confident pup as he came out of the hallway into the waiting room. When I went to see family that Christmas (5 days away), he did just as well in the kennel.

So, you might think about giving it a trial, especially if the traveling (or hotel room or whatever) seems to stress her out. Sometimes they're idea of a vacation is a lot different than ours.

Bentley hates me leaving him also but he does great at the kennel. I take him to a place that lets them outside to play (for extra $) twice a day, in addition to the multiple potty breaks outside with people. I usually spring for a groom also. What I'm getting at is to find one that does human to dog activities so the pooch doesn't feel alone. I will not use one where there's a doggy door and the dog has to let himself out and doesn't see people.

The ppl there always say he does great. He will sleep alot once home, but that's from all the barking dogs keeping him up all night. I believe it....it amazes me the dogs who won't shutup. The little ones especially.

If you are rich, there's kennels that have webcams, private rooms, and much more. Kennels have turned into day cares, and people pay just as much or more.

Yeah, it was a great time. We had my buddy, his wife and kid, and his mom. Great mom's day all around.

Jonathan, the boy, plays with the my dogs, and gets them both tired out. Good for everyone.;)

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAPLE!

Maple is officially 1 year old today. Small dog friendly cake, gone in second-could barely get a picture.

Here's a couple pictures of her after her bath. (Yes, she's naked when she doesn't have her collar on)

    Super curls after a bath

Looks like they are right at home with their ride on the boat. I am always amazed how comfortable dogs are adjusting to people things V.S. natural outdoor things. Example. Mine don't like to stay out in the rain. They like to lay on their memory foam beds. They like to go for rides, They like toys.

She has grown so. Where are you with the temperament concerns? Also, I've forgotten if you brought this up. Has she been neutered? We waited on our female lab. She wasn't having issues with her heats. In fact, it was hard to tell she was in heat. We had it done as a matter of precaution and the fact that we were told they have fewer health issue. However, that bit of surgery knocked the tar out of her for a week. I was so glad when she started to show interest and not discomfort.

She is doing well. Her aggression has subsided with ignoring her when shes in her space behind the couch, and taking things away like balls etc, and giving them back. I think she was just very stressed during the few days at the hotel.

She was spayed during her surgery when she was just over 6 mos. We wanted to wait until her first heat, but since the doc was in the general area, we had it done.
