Picture 0076 is some Beech and some Sugar Maple, picture 0077 is the area I'm moving the Soft Maple and Sugar Maple from that has been up for a year and picture 0078 is the area I stacked the S.M. and S.M. in. The reason I'm moving the Maple..... I plan on having six F/C of Pine and Hemlock stacked there. My goal was to have the area in picture 0078 that was open filled by the end of May, weather permitting I'll have it done tomorrow. This coming week we'll be hauling the Cherry out of the woods so I'll have more stacking that I'll need to take care of.
Thanks tamarack , I've been adding to the wood inventory each year since we started burning so we're finally at the point that all our areas we have for stacking should be filled before fall. I've always relied on Mother Nature felling most of our wood we have but we're down to 3 or 4 nice size Cherry that are down. It's been about 4 or 5 years since we had a some big winds so I think this year we'll get hit, it should wind storms if we get them usually start happening starting the third week of May on.
Is there a subliminal note hidden in that stack? Maybe if it is turned upside down it will spell out "John is dead" or "Pine will cause chimney fires".
Somebody recently said she made a rhubarb pie too. Now I know why those stack pictures always look so good, cribbed ends and covered with tin.
I finished this stack of Maple today, I had to dip into some nice Sugar Maple that I had stacked between two Pines so I could finish.
Oh no she don't!!! But yes, she is a good cook and makes wonderful pies. At present, she is weeding the strawberry patch, or at least one of them.
Worry not my friend. As thewoodlands knows very well, she does not stack wood here. I simply will not allow it. I'm sloppy enough but the stacks would be a total disaster if she did the stacking.
I see it was a nice day out your way today, this Thursday they say we'll hit 74. I'm hoping we have our trailer back by Friday if not before, it's time we get the Cherry out of the woods. Backwoods Savage , have you started to get any smoke from that big fire in Alberta?
Looks like we'll see 70 Wed and Thursday with thunderstorms on Thursday. Rain in forecast most every day but the last few have all gone south of us which is nice. We don't need rain right now. No sign of smoke from the fires. That is a long ways but we've seen it happen before. Yup. She saw it....and laughed.
The sun finally came out this afternoon, they say we'll drop to 28 tonight so we'll keep burning. It looks like starting on Friday we'll be in for a stretch of wet weather.
We had a freeze last night. But only a few blossoms got hit so we should be okay. Some areas were hit harder than us.
