Got a load of Sycamore yesterday

    Sycamore worst splitting wood here locally, and they grow mostly along creeks and springs. A lot of the older more rustic homes here use sycamore for hardwood floors and the grain is amazing. And while they live sycamores are the messiest trees. She'd their bark while other trees shed leaves, then are last to shed their leaves.

    But BTUs when free go in our stove regardless, including willow etc....!

    And it seems to me they are also late leafing out in spring.

    Nothing wrong with Sycamore. Sometimes it is hard to split. Other times easy. Depends on the tree. It isn't real dense but not bad. Never have turned it down :)
