Used trailer inspection - what to look at?

my 4 by 8 (old aluminum boat) pt utility dump trailer has 3 foot tongue real hard to back up.. but on a small trailer dont. just get a trailer buddy a ball on a dolly, and put trailer where you want it.. by hand. if you don't have room a it's easy.... don't over think this. a light trailer on wheel lift and push..

 

I see where you're coming from, but there are two problems with that. One is that I'm in a rather well-groomed urban/semi-suburban neighborhood, and my neighbors wouldn't be thrilled at my having a trailer sitting out in the yard. The bigger problem is that I have zero level yard space accessible from the road, so the only way a trailer is getting up into my yard is with a winch.

Man I feel for you. How do you get your wood up to your house or yard? Or do you store on the street?

I'd hate to not be able to drive to my yard!

And it blows my mind people care if you have a utility trailer in your yard. I get if it looks like a junk yeard, like you have 3 of them and there in disrepair and you don't weed eat around them and stuff , but this stuff just makes me shake my head how some people have to live and the amount of concern some people have over their neighbors possessions stuff and home!

And like mentioned the sides just drop down into stake pockets. You could drill and install pins in Them if you wanted but don't have to bolt them down

 

It's not all bad, just a cultural shift. Houses are set very close together, so the condition of one property has a meaningful effect on the value of properties around it, and you can always see several other neighbors' yards just by looking out any window. Keeping the place looking nice ends up being a sort of good citizenship. Besides, none of my neighbors has ever actually given me any grief about my property; I'm just hypervigilant.

 

I totally agree not in doing something to intentionality anger someone and not trying to look junky. But a trailer you use that's in good repair and is temporary and moveable, it amazes me people complain about. I'm not talking parking an old semi trailer to use for junk. Or like I said a yard full of stuff that you don't weed eat around.

My buddy is going through this in his subdivision There onto him about his trailer. A very well kept 5x10 enclosed trailer that he uses for his business!!! It's not wrapped and is like I said in good shape. He maintains it and even washes it

I saw that, but it looks like even the fold-up trailers might be a challenge to fit in the garage. That heavy-duty fold-up is almost 12' long, so it will be close to 8' tall when folded at the center of the bed. I've got less than 7' unless I thread between rafters.

I read that as 2x 5 foot of floor space. Not 5ft tall? But the attachement hasn't downloaded yet and I sure I am wrong.
