Me too I wish I had more free time this time of year but that just isn't usually the case. I was very sad to leave after only 4.5 hours but man it was good to meet you all and see some old friends too! Besides I got to see HDRock new splitter and I did split one round on mine before amateur cutter distracted me so I did do a little work.... Right? I am ashamed to admit I didn't sharpen my chains after running the saws all morning! I came loaded with blanks. Next time that wont happen!!!
Looks like everyone had a great time. Makes me look forward to the Pa. GTG all the more. Looking through all the pics, I couldn't help but notice that there seemed to be a large representation of Stihl orange in the mix.
Everybody who touched that 490 had a big ol grin when they were done with it. I think amateur cutter tried to smuggle it home with him.
Hey Walt, I think Ed just called you & Shawn "furry Friends" Thanks so much for those wedges & file handles. First file handle I've used that felt solid & secure in my hand. I really enjoyed working with you & Brad.
We missed ya Scotty Overkill Can't wait til May walt, you're the man- thanks for gifting the handles and wedges! First class, sir!@amateur cutter, Pallet Pete, Pyroholic, Frank and Beans, HDRock- stand up guys!
I'm sure I'm speaking for all of us who couldn't be there, thanks for the pics and stories. It was a fantastic time and we all wish we could have been there. Thanks so much!
I had a really great time this weekend - thank you so much for the invitation Dennis and Judy. If you're ever in my area, you're welcome to stop by anytime. Sorry about the mess. I hope you can at least put the lumber to use. I wish I could have stayed for another day to finish up. The log that's cut in half I think might be some type of fir - do you know what kind of trees they were? I wanted to make you a couple of benches from the leftover pieces but I just ran out of time. What an adventure! I think I did the firewood decathlon! Cut some dead ash with HDRock, trying to clean up near a fence line - and he's the only one who managed to get one all the way to the ground in there! On the first try anyway. Stacked a little bit with DexterDay, bocefus78 fired up Pallet Pete's splitter, and I so I got out the Fiskars and started an unofficial Paul Bunyan race - but I had to stop for a little bit to let him catch up, plus I think he was giving me all the elm... The food was great - I had to go back for thirds, and pie too. And the campfire crew - had so much fun hanging out with you guys. Dunno if I can tell those stories though! I'll get reported! The drive was an adventure too - didn't have my phone with me on the way home cause somehow I got drunk and lost it.. Thanks to Judy and DexterDay I'll have it back really soon. I hope I can host one of these sometime and be as gracious a host as Dennis and Judy. Thanks again, I had so much fun. -Shawn
