That stuff seems to be one of the common pain killers. My wife uses that dammitall for her arthritis pain when it gets bad.

Went to the doctors this afternoon, got a good report. Still need to be mindful of the possibility of infection, but definitely headed in the right direction. Thank you all for your prayers. Please continue them as I heal. Thank you.

Great news. You got super lucky. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully, this post will help us all to be careful swinging any sharp tool. It's too easy to forget. One of my worst woodworking injuries was from a simple hand saw. It was sharp, and it did a real number on my finger. Never underestimate the potential danger of a sharp too.

    Sharp toos always have potential...

Seriously, I agree with you. I'm a contractor and find the least obvious things to be the stuff the gets me.... like wrenching my back getting in the truck when Some jerk parks too close.

My contractor caught his thumb with his utility knife today, thankfully it was on the top and his thumbnail stopped it, could have been worse. And also a large reason I have a contractor is because WWW's back is not what it used to be, one wrong move and it goes out, sometimes ok after after couple days but other times he has been flat on his back for a week straight.

I know exactly what he is up against. Sometimes it gets ginked up just bending over the bathroom sink in the morning....then I know it'll be a good day.

I remember bending over one morning to pick my pants up off the floor after showering one day and whamo! The pain in my back dropped me. Oh yeah and then there was the time when I bent over to pick up a quarter.....

Same thing happened to WWW, and he had the door locked. I just remember hearing a big bang when he hit the floor from the other side of the house.

Just a week ago, after a shower and while toweling off, the same thing decided to hit me! I cried out with the old "YEOW" that turned into a "OW, OW, OW," with some groaning... Scared the heck out of 99 as she screamed my name and came running.

About 15 years ago, a semi-retired carpenter I was talking with on break was telling me about not locking bathroom doors. Says many a door has to be busted down after a thump has been heard and no response from within the room. The conversation started because of a couple on the lake. The wife was in the shower (bathroom door locked) and was called. It was the call that we will all answer, it was just her time. The husband heard the thump, not only was the door locked, but she also landed in front of the door. Took a little longer than normal to just get into the bathroom...

At least you all had it while doing something (as did I getting out of the car 24 yrs ago while still trying ti get the kinks out from the prior issue with L5). My newest was 7 weeks ago at 4 am sleeping and it hit. I have no idea what movement it did.I had been having some minor issues while awake and bending head forward (including waking up with minor pain) that would disappear after a few days.
This one has had me layed up for 7 weeks so far.
Find out tomorrow if i can get back to almost normal routine.
