Not exactly OM, btw I got decent price on one of those R6250's. I was only trying to get rid of a wall wart and increase my account bandwidth. The original c3700 should have handled it but the powers that be at Netgear and to some degree TWC crippled things. My old sub $50.00 refurbished router was handling its DNLA serving task just fine. It should have been a 10 minute change. But nope, almost 4 months later I'm still at it. Got the HD capacity on the old router and the bandwidth upgrade. Just didn't get rid of that wall wart. In the process of playing with the C6300 we got hooked on the overall speed thing. Besides, I have all those "tech" folks to hassle somehow. What better way than getting another of their units with a fresh warranty. I just finished watching installing and configuring DD-WRT on the R6250.

The boss is watching some commercial free stuff right now via the network, I know she is but I don't know if it is Netflix, Amazon, Crackle, or our own videos. I'm listening to music from the CD collection, local group in fact.

Well I got the last of the screens in today, the boss and youngest daughter took three little ones to the lake and they even went in for a swim. I got rid of 5 tents of tent caterpillars, three in one of the apple trees and two in the peach tree.

It should and I hedged my bet by going for a unit that can have DD-WRT installed.

Still red-flag around here. CleanFire's town has had 6 brush fires in the last week. Last report I heard they had 100 fire fighters working on the latest one and it had again shut down the main route between Keene and Concord.

Supposed to rain today (good!) but the morning was so nice (low 50's), and it is supposed to get up to around 80, so I decided to ride in to work anyway. Got a bit damp on the way in, no biggie. I'll be keeping an eye on the radar though - I don't mind rain, I don't even mind hard rain - thunderstorms are a different matter. I have ridden thru a few bad TS's and those times when all your arm hairs stand on end and feel like they are trying to jump off and be free, you know it isn't a good sign :bug:. Anyway, if I need to, I'll leave a bit early to miss extreme weather.

X2 :salute: my partner handles all the geek stuff, so I never needed to clutter my limited brain power with any of that.

not sure if i mentioned finding a 55 gallon steel drum when i was looking for rocks at the town brush/yard waste disposal yard.
two days prior i had decided i needed one but discovered it would run me near $100 minimum.
luckily someone was irresponsible and ditched theirs in the trees at the town yard.

now to cold chisel the top out and drill holes in it to make an elevated base for inside, cut a breather/ash removal chunk out of the side at the bottom slap a screen on top and continue my burn project w/o setting anyone's house on fire.

i was mildly amazed i found the barrel . i turned right and went around the big compost pile instead of left like i always do.
    dowsing for scrap.

Seems that on critical stuff that they would have another power backup to cover the maintenance time frame

Well today was run around day, dropped the C6300 RMA off at staples (Fed EX pickup location) , got cat food and treats at the pet store, scratch and layer pellets at the feed store, patted the rabbit at the feed store and looked over the spring chicks, stopped at Shaws and got some food for the rest of the critters here, then had lunch, followed by a limited junk store run. I got two Celtic music CDs at Goodwill, now to rip them into oggs and mp3s. My new router made it from NJ to MA overnight and is on schedule for delivery tomorrow.
