I remember it being boiled or steamed from a can and stinking up the house. As a child in a big family I stomached what was on the table, but as I've grown older fresh asparagus is one of my spring favorites.

I eat it like French fries, except grilled or sautéed in olive oil and touch of salt and pepper

    I didn't eat it as a kid.
We cook it occasionally now. Usually steam it in a covered pan to soften it then turn up the heat and give it a shot of olive oil, salt, pepper and some wet garlic at the end.
Don't really love it or hate it now

Never had it as a kid, so I wouldn't know. Now I love it, though I don't have it often. But we had it tonight!:stirpot::thumbs:

I have always enjoyed asparagus...even as a child. The canned stuff is far from the fresh stuff-as we all know.

Can't say that I love it, but I like it now. Sautéed in olive oil with a touch of salt and pepper, just getting a hint of char. One of those rites of spring.

    Stinky pee is a bonus.
