This one was pretty fun. We went out on the airboat today. Fun stuff. We didn't go on this one, the one we went on was bigger, with a big block Chevy, and regular prop, not a carbon fiber one like this speed demon. It was just like this one. Of course I didn't wear hearing protection. It wasn't that loud, just good, especially after driving a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder car for the last few days. We saw gators. The biggest one I actually spotted from the boat while we were moving pretty quickly. He missed it, but I saw it. The driver spun back to investigate. Yep. A 7 footer. Hmmm. I'll have to check for duplicates and to make sure I got all the good pics. I also got a couple of videos. I'll need to upload to YouTube to put here. The big block was cammed nice and chunky.
We did an airboat tour, I think it was near Christmas Fl. Cant remember now. What a riot!!! We went out at dusk and were out for a couple hours. Guides took us to see a 12' gator Then met up with another guide who was carrying a five foot gator through the boats for everyone to see and touch, our guide says, " I used to do that too...until I had one get loose in the boat and everyone was standing on the seats trying to get away from it"................... I'd go back right now to do it again!!! Our boat had the BB Chevy and IIRC would seat 25 people
Looks like fun!!! I'm not really a fan of Chevy either, but I gotta admit they can build a heck of a V8!
I think they have closed the everglades to all airboats except certain airboat people who can establish they always done it and those guides in business??? Forget the details. Anyway. 7foot gator is not that big really. We even get them almost to my part of the state. A bit south of here and you get back into them on rivers and swamps
No, 7 footers are really not that big. The guide says the biggest he's seen on that lake/ river system is 15 feet. Now, that's a big one.
