Finally some cutting time w/pics

I haven't cut in awhile with soggy ground last summer and barely enough big freeze to harden up the ground.

I took down a 21" diameter Ash today. Had about a 4 degree back lean and was heavy to the lean. I didn't get a pic of it vertically sorry guys. Took a lot of wedging. There was also a thick branch near the base that took some finesse for notching and back cut.

I don't see any trees cut down Must be another one of those stories like Goldilocks or Cinderella

The last pic is another Ash about the same size thatl come down in a few days.

I'll post pics tonight of my stacks that these will be added too.

There are about 8, 10" ash trees that need to come down at this property. They are woods trees so they are really tall 40-50'. with no branches left so itl make quick work. They have been falli g left and right with the wind. I'm excited

The last pic is what's in the shed now. The first is honey locust and mulberry.

 

You need to get after that tree in the first pictures. Somebody will want to be out working that field very soon. Around here the fertilizers are already going down.

Already out of the field! The farmer knows what I was doing. I called him and asked if i could drive my truck along the edge of the field to make loading easier. The tree was on my grandfathers land when it was upright.

 

Edit - yes that is, in the distance. I almost didn't see it in the pic. Everything around the stump is raspberry and saplings of pear and sweetgum
