Yikes! I've taken mine to the shins twice now but never that bad! Get well soon! I think the first time it happened to me was my first full day using it. I was real glad that I hadn't sharpened it yet, like I was considering just moments prior. I still haven't sharpened it. I've tried a pulp hook too and you want to be even more careful with glancing blows there - it's likely to catch you a little higher than the shins... I went back to using my log tongs for most things, they work better anyway and so much safer. Praying for a speedy recovery!
what is going on around here lately?? I have seen more injury threads in the last month than since this forum started. I think we need to have a safety meeting and go over some of the basics again. Maybe backwoods can do a short lecture at his get together. Get well soon and heal quickly, prayers sent your way.
Ouch! Hope you have a quick recovery. The bright spot is - you'll have a cool story to tell and a scar to back it up.
May Gods healing be on you my Brother in Christ. I hit my foot with one last year. No fun. The pickaroon didn't work well on the white oak and hickory I was cutting so Ive quit using it. Even though Im 60 and have a bad back, Id rather just take my time . May try the Pick Pole as shown above. Looks promising.
Will there be a pickaroon in the marketplace soon? The bone chip has got to be painful. I don't even want to think about that. Ouch Get well soon.
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. They did surgery in the middle of the night. It just missed the big bone in your shin, pierced in 2+", hit and knocked a chip out of the small bone. Alot of cleaning and flushing. Still getting IV antibiotics. Pain is severe and I have a high pain tolerance.
