Cold Newcastle and throwing the ball for the pooch. Spring is finally here. First day in 3 weeks that all my mowing customers actually needed services. I'm glad for the work. :emptywallet::makeitrain":dancer:

I remember driving away from a used car dealership at 19 with the salesman gibbering at me. OMG my father was laughing so hard he was in tears. I would say in my mid 40's I have a good grip on what is worth stressing about and forgetting the dumb stuff. Then again I do not have employees anymore. Still much better at stress stuff in as I age for sure.

Lukem. Something I've been trying to do. And then sometimes re-learning. And then re-learning. And then ........

Is to just relax. Or, as George Carlin would say, "Calm down and have some dip." Etc., etc.

It really isn't worth it most of the time to get so ticked off or stressed out, or whatever the case may be. Better to calmly communicate well what you need to, and leave it at that without making it bigger than it needs to be.

Too much stress is not good for our health man.

I don't get stressed out....I used to but decided a job isn't worth it. I just find that putting up with stupid people and their stupid problems isn't worth the $ a little more every year. I know I can't do this for another 10 years so I save my pennies...and hopefully I can go do what I want when the time is right.

Yeah that's the card I threw back at them.
The reality is the Ops manager, is kind a catch all for things the Plant manager doesn't want to deal with because they get on "Tactical Teams" that who knows what they produce? mostly feathers in the cap of managers struggling to step on someone else's hands on the rungs of the ladder.

I can craft this job into what I want it to be, as I perform most of the responsibilities already.

This job isn't "hard" work like I did when I was 12-21yo, but there is BS out in the plant on occasion I scratch my head why I'm doing it, but I never felt "ABOVE" a job - you want to pay me 6 figures to run a pressure washer...OK

Not sure how I feel tonight. I'll either be relieved or pizzed when it sinks in.
Been helping a large G.C. on a local project since Oct. at least. Late today I was informed I was #3 out of 4. Been helping them with budgeting, design & development for months.
I went through everything last week end, trimmed what I could after being informed I was 20% over the low guy. I shaved almost 11%, but that's it, I'm not going to buy a job.
They're going with the low bidder. I now know who the low bidder is. I could rant for days about the low bidder and their practices. So, we'll get work on this project when they screw up, they always do.
We're helping 3 G.C.'s currently who used the same guy's. You'd think word would spread about this, but no.

But- I'm crawling all over this project @ 75% completion, just to show the G.C. where the differences lie. I will be brutal. It's 3 blocks from my shop.
    damm.

Sadly, it is ALWAYS about the $$$$$$$$ when these initial decisions are made. Ultimately they pour the additional $$$$$$ anyway. Totally frustrating for sure. Eventually you get to the point of throwing up your hands and saying "why bother"...........................:headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang:
