I have only seen a couple places that would fill your tank for you, and that was 20 years ago. The few I have seen charged double on the gas and it was expected to tip on top of that so I never bought it (except the one time I was lost in a bad city and afraid to get out of my car). At this point in life with my funny health crap I would gladly pay someone, especially when its cold, windy and snowy, but they no longer exist. I have never heard of such a thing of non self service pumps til I joined FHC and read about it from members out east. I am guessing there are much less people driving around with the gas cap off or seeing a gas cap in the street out east like I have seen out here in the west:rofl:

At 17, I was working night shift at a full service station. We were required to no only pump gas, but clean every windshield and at least offer to check the oil. Still had a few cars come in with the fill tank hidden behind the tailight! Also carried one of those coin changers on our belts.

This is while the manufacturers were transitioning from outside hood release to inside hood releases-you sure found out where a lot of hood levers were!
This job probably kept me out of a lot of trouble as I worked every Fri/Sat night......

I had one of those too, now I wonder what happened to it. I used one on my paper route and at the gas station......once a workaholic always a workaholic I guess.

Man, I remember that well! The older Chevy's, Buicks, Pontiacs with the fill cap behind the rear license plate or the VW's that had the gas tank under the "front" hood...

I remember a friend of mine pumped gas when we were in high school. They paid him 5 cents for every gallon he pumped.

I was allowed $1.75 as a kid working under age (swimming pool, instructor assistant and pool maintenance). I was so happy to turn 15 or 16 or whatever the legal non parental consent age was, I immediatly went up to almost $3/ hour. Wooooo!! :rofl: :rofl:

If you told a kid today what we all worked for back then, they would completely think we were nuts! :loco:  When my knee was fixed last July, I offered the neighbors kid $30.00 to cut my grass, I can cut it on a good drunk with a Beer break  in 45 minutes, he said…. Na! o_O, talking about "lazy"!!!

GM sure was smart to use Isuzu duramax diesels, as they proved that they couldn't make their own diesels with the durability that diesel owners require.

Yeah, how does that work for a motorcycle? I'd have a hard time letting anyone but me pump gas into my bike. Getting gas on my clothes is not cool. Bikes don't have a tall fill neck line cars and trucks.
