Got some farwood!

I never really measured one other than I know I have bought off this guy but had a friend haul once on his trailer then I had to break the bundles and transfer them 1 slab at a time to my pickup because when he hauled, the back yard was to soft so he just unhooked the trailer. So I know the length stuck off the t/gate. If I was in better shape with my back right now I would get a bundle for the pit.

 

I did, I got it from a guy about 2 miles north of Boyceville. 18 miles round trip and a new contact for welding I can't complain

 

My slabs were free, but I don't think I'd pay anymore than $20 a bundle Depending on what those bundles are. I was glad my secnd year I was on to better wood, despite them being free. If they are mostly 1" thick and 4" wide stuff, I'd have to be paid to take it. Not splitting is a great plus, but I just found the cutting part to be a real pain....maybe it was just me.

At the end of the day, if your good with the price for what your getting and you don't mind the odd pieces in the bunch, it will all make BTU's.

 

Yes there is some small 1x pieces in the mix and as I have a boiler they are more of a hassle than anything, but there are a LOT of bigger pieces in this, and it should stack decent with air gaps since most of it has a rounded side. Haven't cut any yet but looking forward to trying it out

 

I used to love getting wood like that. I'm going to try again this year for my new firepit. so easy to cut up to use. Best buy.
